IBADAN OBASHIP: Lekan Balogun Is The Next Olubadan – Ladoja Breaks Silence

Osi Olubadan, Gov Rasidi Ladoja, Olubadan-elect, Oba Lekan Balogun, and late Olubadan, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji Ajeogunguniso-I.

Rasidi Ladoja, former governor and Osi Olubadan of Ibadan land, has spoken at last about the controversy surrounding who replaces Oba Saliu Adetunji as the new monarch, OYOINSIGHT.COM reported.

Ladoja who made the clarification when he received visitors at his Bodija house, said the Otun Olubadan, Lekan Balogun is the next in line to succeed the departed Oba Adetunji.

Appealing for calm the high chief stated that,“Uninformed people are just causing unnecessary tensions in Ibadan. There is no controversy about who becomes the next Olubadan after the demise of Oba Saliu Adetunji Aje Ogunguniso-I”.

This was just he clarified that he had no hand in the letter written by an Ibadan-born lawyer and former justice commissioner, Barr. Michael Lana.

This newspaper recalled that with the exemption of Ladoja, Balogun and others have been elevated to Obaship, His Royal Majesty’s status, by the administration of late former Governor Abiola Ajimobi and elevated the status of Olubadan to His Imperial Majesty.

Yesterday, 10 of the high chiefs, the kingmakers, met at Mapo and endorsed Balogun as Olubadan-elect. Only Ladoja was absent.
