IBADAN: Prince Olaide Akinremi Congratulates Chief Lekan Balogun As Oba-Elect, Lauds Olubadan-in-Council.
Member of House of Representatives, representing the good people of Ibadan North Federal Constituency, who is also a Prince of Ibadanland, Honourable Olaide Akinremi popularly known as Jagaban has written to congratulate the Olubadan elect, High Chief Lekan Balogun. He, also, applauded members of the Olubadan-in-Council too.
Following his nomination by members of the Olubadan-in-Council and subsequent affirmation by the Oyo State Government as the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland, Prince Olaide Akinremi stated that High Chief Lekan Balogun is worthy, and he deserves to be congratulated on reaching the pinnacle of the highly revered Ibadan chieftaincy line.
In a release he personally signed, Hon. Prince Olaide Akinremi stated that, “I am joyful to learn about the peaceful resolution to issues and bottlenecks around succession to the Olubadan throne following the transition of Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, the Aje Ogungunniso-I few weeks ago. Ours in Ibadan is a unique line of succession to the throne, and it is a thing of joy to keep the tradition”.
“High Chief Lekan Balogun deserves to be congratulated for coming this far, as it’s certainly been long years of passing through the ranks, and now getting to a point where he will be privileged to sit on the stool of our ancestors from where he will direct the affairs of Ibadanland, and this is only made possible because God Almighty has granted him the grace”.
“Sons and daughters of Ibadanland should remain proud of the Ibadan heritage, and I am particularly excited about this new phase of Ibadan traditional leadership simply because just like his predecessors, High Chief Lekan Balogun will be a father to all, after finally ascending the throne of our forefathers”.
