Ibapon Central Mosque Commissioning: Senator Buhari Aide Slams Oyo PDP, Warns Against Unhealthy Criticism

A call has gone to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State to be focused and support the state governor in developmental criticism rather than irrational ones being engaged in in recent times.

The senior special adviser to Senator Buhari Abdulfatai on media and publicity, Alhaji Semiu Azeez, gave this admonition in a press release issued and made available to journalists in the early hours of today.

Justifying the reaction of his office to the statement credited to Oyo PDP and signed by its acting publicity secretary, Alhaji Azeez, declared that the records of Senator Buhari that gave him the appellations ‘Ko seleri of Oyo North and the Omoluabi of Oyo Politics’ were earned by his unprecedented achievements.

Azeez enjoined the Oyo PDP to be watchful of the efforts of a selfless political leader like Senator Buhari, who had made giant strides towards better livings for not only the good people of Oyo North but also Oyo State and Nigeria in general.

The comments made in his release about Senator Buhari by Ogunsina Micheal had shown that Oyo PDP needs a professional and versed media expert to manage its media and publicity.

Alhaji Azeez informed that Senator Buhari has become a household name as a very outstanding Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria whose activities in the National Assembly have helped to reposition and strengthen the standard of living among the citizenry.

“The bills sponsored are numerous, and these have helped to shape positively the Information and Communication Technology System, Land Transport System, and Aviation and Aerospace System of the country; all these were noticed and recognised by not only the Federal government but the Oyo State government led by Engr. Seyi Makinde.

Oyo PDP should recall that Distinguished Senator Buhari had successfully moved a motion in the floor of the Senate seeking the attention of the Federal government on the State of Ogbomoso Federal government road, which had yielded the desired results following the approval of the government and subsequent mobilisation of the contractor to the site.

“Though it’s never part of the lifestyle of Senator Buhari to make his efforts known to the public, as he believes so much in actions rather than unnecessary propaganda, we want to use this medium to inform not only the Oyo PDP but the generality of Nigerians that the President Tinubu-led Federal government has put smiles on the faces of the users of the road as contractors have started mobilising their equipment to the road since three days ago,” Alhaji Azeez said.

He said Oyo PDP should rather indulge in governance that is based on the principles of justice and fairness. 

“While we are aware that the Oyo State PDP led government could as well rehabilitate the road for the good use of the motorists, the party should rather appreciate the unwavering efforts of Senator Buhari rather than engaging in inhuman criticism,” Alhaji Azeez declared.

He said that the Legislator had successfully completed the construction of the five hospitals in various towns across Oke Ogun and had equally lobbied members of the Executive, including the State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, who, out of his magnanimity, had sent delegates to inspect the hospitals for the purpose of equipping them with staffers for prompt takeoff of operations.

“So, Oyo PDP should not erroneously take the roles of executive arm of government to the legislature. It is a myopic idea on the part of the PDP to think that a senator has the power to recruit workers to the various hospitals; he can only lobby the executive to do so, which he has already done,” Azeez stressed.

Azeez hinted that Senator Buhari is ever committed to seeing improvement in the spiritual growth and supplications among his people, and so that he committed his personal resources to the construction of the Ibapon Central Mosque should never be used by the Oyo PDP to enjoy cheap popularity among people of the state that are tired of returning visionless and selfish individuals to the National Assembly.
