“BASORUN AT A GLANCE”
I am Lawal Soliu Adelodun. I was born to the family of Alh. Bisi Lawal of blessed memory in Adeyinka Compound,Oke Ola, Igangan in Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State. I am the candidate of All Progressives Congress contesting as a Member,Oyo state House of Assembly representing Ibarapa Central/North Constituency in the forthcoming General Elections.
  My aim for contesting for the seat is solely based on improving the people’s welfare and bringing about social justice. I strongly believe the attainment of these aforementioned goals will bring about improvement in the standard of living and general wellbeing of the people of my constituency. It has been a movement dated back to when I was in the higher institution of learning . I love to fight for the interest of those that are cheated and deprived of their rights. I should have been an Activist but I believe there are vital tools in governance that I can make use to substantiate my fighting spirit and activism. I am into politics to give my people better and quality representation they have been denied of long time ago . I want to bring to the grassroots sense of belonging and participation in governance.I want to reignite the hope of the masses that has been dashed long ago. I want to run an all-inclusive governance that will focus on development and breeding of youth, fully braced up with transformative ideas so as to get the positive change we so desire.
I am a vibrant youth that is vast in politics and governance. I have served in many capacities in the past. I have once served in the S.U.G, MAPOLY Chapter, Abeokuta and National Association of Igangan Students’. In those capacities, I have demonstrated good leadership qualities capable of transformation and development. I understood the plight of both students and graduates as well as the difficulties to be gainfully employed. All these prevailing issues prompted me that there must be a way out of this  problem. And if you are not in government, there are some tools that may not be available for you to combat these ailing problems,hence my ambition to use my youthful age to that cause of changing the narratives. It may not be in my capacity to provide employment, but youth empowerment and capacity building are within my reach if elected. For instance,
before I delve into partisan politics, I have engaged in series of Community Development Programs in my quest to contribute my quota in giving back to the society. The widows and less- privileged in my constituency have been enjoying my philanthropic gestures during my Annual Ramadan Lecture.The students of both public and private schools are not left behind, benefitting from free JAMB forms as well as writing materials. There is still chance to enlarge the coast of giving back to the society if elected come 2023 General elections.
Lastly, there are many things we need to get right as representative, representing you people if community participation and all-inclusive governance would be achieved hence my agenda for better Ibarapa.

AGENDA FOR  IBARAPA CENTRAL/NORTH CONSTITUENCY

In my desire to represent my dear people at the Oyo State Assembly come 2023, I pledge to be the embodiment of the true IBARAPA of selflessness, responsibility, fairness, courage, hardwork and commitment to Social Justice.

I will leave no stone unturned to enhance the growth and development of the Constituency.

•Special attention to be paid to:

~ Education:

~ Youth and Women Empowerment

~Infrastructure and Industrial Development

~ Health, Sports and Social Services.

~ Community Development.

This will be achieved through:

•Sponsoring and co-sponsoring relevant bills and motions that will impact positively on the good people of Ibarapa Central/ North Constituency.

•Facilitating gainful employment and access to poverty reduction schemes of the state government.

•Attracting investments and encouraging the establishment of small-scale business concerns to utilize the abundant raw materials and manpower in Ibarapa Central/North Constituency.

•Championing literacy excellence at all levels of education through financial support for students at all levels of education in full-time study.

•Promoting ICT capacity among the Youths, upscaling access to technology in schools, and poverty skill acquisition with starter  packs.

•Support for health care institutions, orphanages, HIV/AIDS advocacy and general health related campaigns.

•Agriculture, the mainstay of Ibarapa economy will be given holistic attention. Aside from support to farmers through purchase of seedlings, implements, insecticides and equipment for primary processing, working with other levels of government. I will ensure that Ibarapa farmers get their fare share of available resources and opportunities.

• Arts, culture, music and capacity – building initiatives will be supported and promoted to empower our artisans, artists, and other creative minds, institutions and activities.

• Projecting and embodying a firm, respected, consistent and informed voice in the House of Assembly

• Forging and maintaining a positive working synergy with the leaders, the youths and community organization.

• Community development program including market development and small credit scheme to benefit market women.

• Establishing a functional constituency office in the two local governments to enhance access to all.

• Prudent utilisation of constituency funds for genuine, people – focussed, transparent and verifiable projects and programs.

In all, I promise to be accessible/reachable, make Ibarapa Central/ North people proud, and represent you honestly and respectfully, to the best of my abilities.
Lastly, I want to implore my constituents to embrace this wave of hope and better representation so that the lost grip of governance can return to us all. The face of infrastructure, education, agricultural revolutions in Oyo state is nothing to right home about under this PDP Administration in Oyo State. If we can get it right, having a honourable who is vast in grassroots politics and ideological representation, I believe there will be check and balances between the Executive and Legislative Arms of Government and normalcy will be restored.
Also, hope for a new Nigeria is vested in good representation and capable personalities. We don’t have any other time to have people of vast experiences and leadership acumen than now. Now is the appointed time for us to vote capabilities rather than frivolities. I put forward the personalities of new hope and transformation in Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who is known for transforming lives and fortunes, my amiable Sen.Teslim Kolawole Folarin to put right infrastructure, education and agriculture to normalcy in Oyo State, Dr. Muraina Ajibola for continuity of his good works in Ibarapa Central/ North Constituency, Alh. sharafadeen Alli for better senatorial representation and my very self, Lawal Soliu Adelodun for youthful and better transformation and grassroots participation.
