As today marks 18 years since the grandfather of the Member, House of Representatives(MHR) Hopeful, Engineer David Olusegun Okanlawon, Pa Emmanuel Ishola Okanlawon departed this world, his scion, Engr Segun Okanlawon has commenced the drilling of the first out of the 9 motorized boreholes he has perfected all plans to drill across Ibarapa land, in loving memory of his forebear’s person and impact.
This first borehole is being drilled in the Okanlawon family compound, in Idere, Ibarapa land, in Oyo-State.
Engr Segun Okanlawon has this to say,”Today marks 18 years since my grandfather, Pa Emmanuel Ishola Okanlawon departed this world. Pa Okanlawon was an astute leader, philanthropist and community developer.
In loving memory of his person and impact, I commenced the drilling of the first out of the nine (9) motorized boreholes I am drilling across Ibarapa today. This first borehole is being drilled in the Okanlawon family compound.
Known for his impact and leadership acumen, Pa Okanlawon steered the affairs of Unity Party of Nigeria in the old Ifeloju Local Government area, which covered the entire Ibarapa land. He was a leader par excellence.
Apart from having a landmark in the political corridor, he was a philanthropist. His philanthropic heart and gestures remain sterling in the memory of many people. He transmitted this virtue among others to myself and other members of his lineage. It is in lieu of this that I am happy to drill these boreholes in remembrance of him, honouring the numerous lessons, counsel, ideas and values that he instilled in me, his beloved inquisitive grandson.
May Grandpa continue to enjoy eternal rest in the bossom of the Lord.
