IBARAPA: Your Presumed Automatic Ticket Is Exercise in Futility – Ex-LG Vice Chair, Goke Abdulateef Fires “Saubana”.
Immediate past Vice Chairman of Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo-State, Honourable Goke Abdulateef popularly known as “Arab Coins” has carpeted the 3rd term Member, House of Representatives(MHR), from Ibarapa North and Central Federal Constituency, Hon. Saubana Ajibola Muraina over Saubana political movement’s claim that the 3rd term House of Reps member has secured 4th term automatic ticket in Oyo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress(APC). Goke described the attempt as exercise in futility.
The Great ife Alumnus, Arab stated that,”We wish him well for joining our great party, APC as a member but not as an automatic candidate. We have vibrant young progressive stalwarts who can perform excellently in that capacity, as a federal Rep, Member, Oyo State House of Assembly, respectively.
“Hon Ajibola Muraina coming to APC should not cause a set back to APC in Ibarapa North and Ibarapa Central Federal Constituency with his selfish ambition. He should not exercise the use and dump as being utilised in PDP after using the Party’s youth, Hon. Muraina dumped them.
Goke continued,”Hon Ajibola should contribute to the success of the party to unseat the incumbent governor and his party, who he claims has betrayed him one way or the other rather than coming to APC with ambition. He should not make us loose the seat with his ambition because people have already committed themselves to APC before he planned to join our party. Most party men will not leave the party, but we rather remain and work against the party if such shenanigans is allowed.
He fumed,”It happened in 2011 election, so, if Hon Muraina believes he can impose himself on us with the help of cabals, it will have negative consequence. This is not a threat but fact. This same issue of decamping happened in APC in 2011 general election, when our candidate decamped from PDP platform to APC, and he was given automatic ticket in APC then. What happened, he lost the election gallantly.
“Electorates have rights to exercise their fundamental human rights and choose their preferred candidates. So, if the cabals at the top have power to impose, please, will they impose on electorates? Me,I personally believe or let me assume that there is no cabal in ‘The Presidency’ that will ever consider him for automatic ticket. It is just an attempt of petio precipii.
“I’m 100% sure no one will ever try such shenanigans of imposing him. He has once said that his people are ‘gullible’ in one of his write ups to Baba Obasanjo when baba asked him how to succeed in 2015 third term agenda. He failed woefully to Hon Iloko who is just a first term aspirant, then. Those gullible people are still in PDP for now not APC members.
APC has astute leaders and reliable members.
“Money is not everything in political dispensation of youth era. Those that voted him then are still in PDP. Sometimes the issue of ‘kaapoosii’ in any party always causes disastrous calamity by dividing members. Those in village are not dullard not to talk of people in hometowns and cities. Hon Muraina should rather come and work for party success, not bringing his selfish ambition in. He must drop his over ambitious stance and prioritise overall progress of APC, come 2023.
