I’m Bigger Than Peter Obi Politically, I’m His Elder Brother, I’m A PhD Holder—Rabiu Kwankwaso

According to the report by Daily Post on Saturday, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in the 2023 elections, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has hinted at the possibility of deputising his Labour Party (LP) counterpart, Peter Obi, in the next presidential election.

In a video clip currently trending on X, the former governor of Kano State expressed his willingness to work with Obi “if certain conditions are met.”

Speaking in Hausa, Kwankwaso emphasised his political experience and claimed that he is politically “bigger” than Obi.

He mentioned that he is open to meaningful discussions with the Labour Party leader to establish an agreement ahead of the 2027 elections

He said, “I’m bigger than Peter Obi politically, I’m his elder brother, I’m a Ph.D holder, I performed better than him when I was a governor of my state.

“I’ve no problem with deputising Peter Obi, but only if certain conditions are met.”

Kwankwaso, who previously served as governor of Kano State, stressed his achievements and experience in governance, suggesting that these could be beneficial to a potential partnership.

He added, “We are willing to engage in discussions, provided that trust is established.”

The possible alliance between Kwankwaso and Obi could significantly impact the political landscape in Nigeria, especially as both candidates made strong showings in the 2023 election.

Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, won the majority of votes in 11 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. He came third in the election, securing about 6,101,533 votes.

On the other hand, Kwankwaso won the election in 38 out of the 44 local government areas in Kano State, garnering a total of 1,496,687 votes.
