I’m Committed to Excellent Representation, Party Growth without Any Regret – Akintunde Assures Constituents, Progressives As Senator Hosts Ibadan Outer City 2024 APC Chairmanship Candidates

At separate events during this weekend, Dr Yunus Akintunde has reiterated his unconditional commitment to quality legislative representation and the repositioning of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the Senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District.

While receiving the chairmanship candidates of APC within the Ibadan outer city, located within the Oyo Central Senatorial District, who paid him a courtesy visit to express their collective appreciation for his magnanimity and benevolent gesture towards the election and subsequent various interventions since after the election.

It would be recalled that Senator Akintunde released funds to the tune of Forty (40) million naira to the various stakeholders including the candidates for the offices of chairman and councillor in the various Local Government and wards under Oyo Central Senatorial District which he represents at the National Assembly. This he did in collaboration with other stakeholders providing more funds and logistic support for the party during the local government elections.

In a release made available to the press by Kunle Olatunji, the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Senator Akintunde, he expressed his profound appreciation and confidence in the capacity and political strength of the various candidates during the election despite the conspiratorially manipulated losses suffered during the elections.

“I salute your courage, steadfastness and tenacity of purpose during the local government elections which remained controversial and as a leader within the party, I have no regret supporting our collective efforts of which your participation during the elections provided us the unique opportunity to proof and reiterate the strength of our party within the political landscape in Oyo State as the first choice of the citizens despite the “orchestrated losses” which we had anticipated and tried to avert, however members of the ruling party now know better that our party, APC is not a push over, they only took the advantage of our setbacks on factional disposition which is a thing of the past now quite obvious to keen political watchers and stakeholders within Oyo State politics “.

“Another milestone achievement derived from the decision to deliberately participate in the last local government elections was the unity and cohesion the APC has experienced since that period which today has laid the foundation for sustaining the repositioning agenda of our party ahead of 2027 general elections.

The visiting chairmanship candidates who spoke in turns expressed their sincere appreciation and trust in the leadership capacity of Senator Akintunde whose philanthropic nature and benevolent disposition is eulogized and emphasized as legendary in the history of Oyo State politics, his commitment to honour and integrity whenever he made promises is simply unique and worthy of mentioning and emulation.

In a similar event which also held in Oyo town over the weekend where Senator Yunus Akintunde and Honourable Akeem Adeyemi another Member of the Federal House of Representatives at the National Assembly were honoured for their brilliant and extraordinary representations in their various capacities as federal law makers, encomiums and messages of appreciation filled the air by party leaders, stakeholders and constituents who were present at the occasion.

Overwhelmed with joy and excitement, both Federal lawmakers promised to be more committed to surpass expectations on quality service delivery on their respective representations of the constituency in years ahead.

Senator Yunus Akintunde in his words pledged to provide all necessary supports while joining hands with other stakeholders across the state to ensure that APC is best repositioned to once again take control of governance in Oyo state by winning the presidency and all senatorial seats again alongside, House of Representatives, State House of Assembly and governorship slots in the forthcoming elections in 2027.

“I appreciate the enormity of that aspiration, but I have no doubt in divine strength of Almighty God in our human intelligence and intellectual capacity to achieve such aspirations, however it will require our collective resolve, determination and dedication to that commitment henceforth” he emphasized.

He later urged the various stakeholders including the candidates at the last local government elections, party leaders at all levels and members to meet regularly and put behind them the past experiences of factional position, personal interests, negative inclinations and perceptions, rather aggregate resources and develop workable strategic synergetic engagements that will be mutually beneficial to the interest of everyone in future political engagements and arrangements where fairness, justice and equity will surely be the watchwords without prejudice or sentiments he assured.

“In weeks ahead, we shall be witnessing the implementation of several projects including Project Light up Nigeria in our Oyo Central Senatorial District and across the entire country, also the confirmation of approval of new road development and upgrades, school and health care enhancement projects as dividends of democracy will be our priorities in addition with human capacity development on Small and Medium Scale Enterprise promotion”.

“I sincerely appreciate the patience of our people and as a privileged member of the present Senate and National government, I have strong confidence that years ahead will bring smiles on our faces as the economy will be positively impactful on the nation for the benefits of all and sundry” he stated.
