Investiture : We Will Sustain Rotary’s Continuous Service to Humanity – Odusanya .

The new President of Rotary Club of Ibadan-Oritamefa, Dr Felix Odusanya has said his administration would sustain the club’s continuous service to humanity.
He gave the assurance on Saturday in Ibadan during his investiture as the new President of Rotary Club of Ibadan-Oritamefa.


Odusanya, a physiotherapist, is the Head, Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Unit of the Physiotherapy Department, University College Hospital(UCH), Ibadan.

Odusanya, who is the sixth president of the club, said that he would work tirelessly with other members to ensure the sustenance of the club’s age-long services to humanity.
“It is a privilege to serve the club in such decisive times; It is also a big responsibility. I want to thank you all for the trust you place in me.

“I take this as a vote of confidence in the way we have worked. ready to devote every effort of body, mind and spirit to lead the club towards success as well as greatness.
He said that projects would be executed in all the club’s seven areas of focus namely Basic Education and Literacy; Maternal and Child Health as well as Disease Prevention and Treatment.
Other areas are Peace and Conflict Prevention/Resolution; Economic and Community Development as well as Water Sanitation and Hygiene.

Odusanya commended their past president and members for their commitment to the club, saying such accounted for their enviable performance in the district and globally.


Rotarian Ismail Adeola, the outgone president, said that the connect year 2019/2020 was an eventful year for activities in spite of the emergence of COVID-19 pandemic.
He said that their attention and action was guided by five avenues of service and the club’s seven areas of focus, adding they were able to make impacts through their service to humanity.


Adeola, who reeled out his administration’s achievements, urged Odusanya to see everyone as important and tap from their wealth of experience.
“No doubt there will be challenges, the manner and approach to surmount them makes you a leader,” he said.


Otunba Oluwaseyifunmi Abah, the Chairman of the occasion, said Rotary club had impacted much on the lives of the people, adding it has changed the lives of many from doom to boom.
He charged members to give all of their time in the spirit of Rotary club, saying with such the society would be better for all.


Earlier, Rotarian Abiodun Adeoti, the Planning Committee Chairman, charged all to keep opening opportunities for a better society.
“Looking through the list of the year’s projects and the global pandemic of COVID-19, it is further important to note that, this time is the best time to do more good for humanity,” he said.
The event featured presentation of award to six outstanding Nigerians for their contributions to the club and society at large.
The awardees are Hon Seyi Adisa (APC- Afijio State Constituency), Sen. Adesoji Akanbi, Prof. Babatunde Ekanola, Mr Johnson Mobolaji, Dr Olutunde Oni and Mr Babatunde Adetoba.


Among the dignitaries present at the event are Hon. Wunmi Oladeji, Hon. Olamide Akinajo, Hon Ayotunde Fatokun, Hon. Akeem Adedibu and Oba Adeniran Adeyinka, Esija of Esa-Oke.
Others are Prof. Abiodun Ilesanmi, Consultant of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University of Ibadan, Dr Adetutu Akintayo, Director, UCH Pysiotherapy Department,
Prof. Jesse Otegbayo, UCH Chief Medical Director was represented by Dr Abiodun Adeoye, the Deputy Chairman, Advisory Committee UCH .
