As part of his incessant efforts to donate to charity and contribute to social welfare of the people in Oyo State, the Senator-Elect under the platform of All Progressives Congress(APC), in Oyo South Senatorial District, Barrister Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli has, today, paid a visit to Federation of Muslims Women Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN), Oyo State Chapter, at General Gas, Akobo Ibadan.
While Welcoming the Senator-Elect, the Ameerah, President, of FOMWAN, Alhaja(Dr) Bushrah Bisi Olosho noted that,”Barr Sharafadeen Alli has been, immensely, contributing to Muslim community’s progress.
The Muslims Community Chairman also praised Alli on his good deeds.”He has been contributing to FOMWAN. This is an orghange organization that has no source of income. There is no day we pray that we don’t keep him in prayer. He is not new to FOMWAN. Even if Ajorosun is organizing any events, he would make sure that FOMWAN got involved in their plans. We give thanks to Allah. Not everybody that goes there represents people well. You shan’t regret that you were elected. God will continue to bless your home and protect you. You shan’t fall and people will not regret that they voted for you.
She continued,”Barr Alli is a man of honour and dignity, a promising Nigeria and a wonderful person. He is very reliable; he has been contributing to FOMWAN’s projects over a decade. Without calling on him, he made various donations such as food items, cash and the likes. Whenever Ajorosun Club is holding any events, he makes sure that FOMWAN is included in its program. It is important to note that FOMWAN as an organization is facing financial challenges. We spent about 3 million naira with regards to children’s school fees, feeding and payment of our members of staff. Imagine taking care of about 25 babies and 67 children. This organization was established about 37 years ago. My advice for people is to show love to charity. We are what Yoruba people called ‘atewo gbore’ (alms receiver). It is more rewarding to take care of orphans and vulnerable children. These are children we don’t know their backgrounds and over 600 people have been nurtured and trained here. 25 out of them have settled down and married. The situation in Nigeria is not helping the matter because some of them are not financially buoyant enough in order to give back to the organization. As part of our efforts to secure more funds to enhance the organization, we made various announcements during Quran recitations, radio programs, especially during, this holy month via our radio program on Radio Nigeria on every Friday. we enlighten people that it is more rewarding to donate to FOMWAN.
On the sidelines of the event, while addressing press, the Maye Balogun of Ibadanland, Barr. Alli revealed that,”This is not a new thing, I’ve been doing it for a long time. It is a service to humanity and one of the things to help the less privileged. I have not just started. I’ve been doing it for over twenty years. I’m appealing to everyone because children here are orphans. Our mothers were here taking care of them and most of them are retired. They took them to their personal homes in order to groom them and many of them have come out fine. When I get into the office, the issue that has to do with less privileged, disabilities and the likes will be taken care of”, he emphasized.
In attendance were Hon Abiodun Omotosho, Comrade Biola, Hon Ayo, FOMWAN executives, Party Members across Oyo South, among several others.
