As part of his efforts to support his constituents in order to prompt them to take full control and responsibilities of their own lives, the late honourable member representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency during his lifetime initiated plans to empower his constituents with numerous materials that aim to boost their businesses, and the plans were initiated on Monday, August 19, at Emmanuel College Samonda, Ibadan, by his Foundation.
The massive empowerment cut across the constituency and beyond, where major beneficiaries such as artisans, students, widows, and widowers, as well as various associations in Ibadan, went home with different items.
It is worthy of note that some of the groups of the late Honourable, such as Akinremi Solidarity Forum and Akinremi Golden Women, among several others, were also part of the beneficiaries.
According to one of the beneficiaries, Ganiyu Ismail, who spoke to our correspondence, revealed that,“My mother is a widow and not a politician. She informed one of the followers of Akinremi that he has a son who is a fashion designer, but she can’t afford the price of the machine. The follower, however, worked on it, and Prince Akinremi promised to give me the sewing machine, but a few weeks later he passed on. I lost hope immediately. But I was surprised when I received a call from one of the PAJ Legacy Team members that I should come and receive the sewing machine that Akinremi promised my mother before he died. I was elated on one side and sad on the other, but we can’t question almighty Allah. May Allah grant him Aljanah Firdaus,” he wished.
In a related development, a few days after 41 days of Fidau prayer of the late Honourable, Akinremi Solidarity Forum in Ward 5 of the Ibadan North Local Government Area, shared a cash gift as a mini-empowerment to its members in order to enhance their businesses. The event was witnessed by the Youth Leader of All Progressives Congress in Ibadan North, Hon. Jibril Aroso, among other stakeholders in the ward.
