Barely a month after the demise of the late Member of the House of Representative from Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Hon. (Prince) Musiliu Olaide Akinremi, popularly known as Jagaban, Prince Akinremi’s loyalists and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the federal constituency, held an all-important meeting today, August 7, to deliberate on the way forward and sustenance of the Hon. Akinremi Legacy.

The meeting was held at Prince Akinremi Hall, Samonda, Ibadan, and lasted for several hours.

In his remarks, Alhaji Kayode Adanla, a renowned apex leader of the party in the Ibadan North local government, griefed over the sudden demise of the people’s honourable. Akinremi, and he maintained that he would forever be in our thoughts and prayers. We will all miss him; he touched so many lives. Our love and support will always be for him. Team Akinremi has done wonderfully well during and after his reign.

“His achievements would not be appreciated without them. They have distinguished themselves as people of integrity. Also, kudos to them regarding the planning of his 8th day Fidau; this has shown that you’re people of inestimable integrity.

While commiserating with the attendees, Mama Beckley expressed that it saddened our hearts that we had lost a great personality. Since he was elected, he has distinguished himself as a representative of all. All the political parties across the state benefited from his representation. He performed excellently. He fulfilled what he told me when he wanted to contest. He can never be forgotten, she highlighted.

The Vice President of the Muslim community, Bodija Ojurin, Alhaja Olona, noted, “Let’s fear Allah in all that we are doing; this will make us engage in good deeds while we are breathing. Akinremi did well for the Muslim community, and his contribution to the progress of our community cannot be underestimated. Let’s continue to promote the Akinremi  legacy,” she added.

The chairman of APC at Bodija Isopako, Elder Sunday Akinpelu JP, described Musiliu Akinremi as an achiever of all times. “He brought what we have been clamouring for in Bodija Isopako since 25 years ago. What he has achieved can never be erased. Whenever our place is on fire, we won’t see water to quench it. He facilitated the Fire Service Station Project, which is now under construction. While I was supervising the project before I came here, it had a substantial structure. All the equipment brought by the contractor was of good quality and phenomenal. He constructed a borehole that is serving all communities that surround Isopako, Bodija. May his soul rest in peace, he prayed.

The representative of Golden Women, Mrs. Kemi Olodude, popularly known as Mummy Santos, highlighted that during his first term in office, Akinremi gave us two assignments, which we succeeded in. First, he asked us to mobilise women, who were not politicians, across all 12 wards. Second, he asked us to stabilise the group, which we achieved. He strengthened the Golden Women Team by not dumping us after the election and started empowering us whenever he organised empowerment programs. That is how he set the standard for his legacy, and we began to spread his gospel across Oyo State. We will miss him forever, she  sympathized.

Other stakeholders and representatives of various groups described Akinremi as a good listener who has done well beyond the Ibadan North Federal Constituency. They enjoined all Akinremi loyalists to stay focused and not be distracted by the skimming of the so-called politicians who are bent on dividing Akinremi loyalists in order to ensure their anti-people political ambitions thrive, but they will not succeed. The Akinremi Legacy has come to stay, they encouraged.
