As part of his efforts to consolidate peace, justice, and maintain strong institutions in all the communities across Ibadan North Federal Constituency, the late Hon. Prince Olaide Akinremi Jagaban initiated a plan to train and empower religious, traditional, and community leaders in a 2-day program that commenced Monday, September 9, which was simultaneously held at D’Ace Hall, Yemetu, and Prince Akinremi Hall, Samonda, Ibadan.

It should be noted that the program was planned by the National Space Research Development Agency (NARSDA) (Federal Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation) in partnership with MIFORTUNE LIMITED. The facilitators who anchored the programs were representatives of the Public Complaint Commission (PCC).

While delivering their lectures, Mr. Olapade Sabit, at the D’Ace Hall, and Mr. Samuel Adedeji and Mr. Isaac Dada, at Akinremi Hall, emphasised majorly what conflict is all about: causes; its stages, such as preliminary, crises, escalation, improvement, and transformation stage; and conflict resolution.

The lecturers emphasised keenly on conflict resolutions, where they urged all the attendees to note mediation and settlement as keys to conflict resolution and enrolment in conflict settlement training like the way Prince Akinremi facilitated the programme, which will enhance their capacity in managing disputes and conflicts in order to foster peace across the communities.

One of the participants, Mr. Akeem Lekan, noted that “this program is indispensable not only to the leaders across the constituency but to the whole constituents since it is mainly about strategy to maintain peace and stability in the society. We appreciate Late Akinremi for this beneficial programme. May his soul continue to rest in perfect  peace,” he wished.

In attendance were Alhaji Kayode Adanla, Leader Akerele, Leader Adedokun JP, Hon. Akeem Adebiyi, Leader Dele Ogunleye, Hon. Owolabi, Mrs. Kadelu, and Hon. Kola Omotade, among several others.
