“June 12”: Oyo Guber Hopeful, Bayo Adelabu Greets Nigerians, Charges Political Leaders to Sustain Abiola’s Legacies.

As Nigerians all over the country mark the June 12 democracy day, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Chief Adebayo Adelabu has charged people in the positions of authority to uphold the legacies of the winner of the annulled June 12, 1993 Presidential Election, Late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola.

Chief Adelabu in a statement made available to journalists by one of his media Aides, Comrade Femi Awogboro said the legacies of Chief MKO Abiola which was centered on poverty eradication should be sustained by various political leaders in the country.

“No doubt June 12 election remains the most acceptable poll in the country’s political history and paved way for the democracy we are enjoying today. Chief MKO Abiola’s lived a selfless life worthy of emulation especially his philanthropic and nationalistic gesture”, he said.

The 2019 Governorship Candidate of APC appreciated President Muhammad Buhari for honouring Chief MKO Abiola by declaring June 12 as Nigeria’s democracy day.

He called on Nigerians to shun any act capable of agravating the existing fragile security situation in the country till our leaders are able to find a lasting solution to the insecurity and strenghten our peaceful co-existence and the nation’s nascent democracy.

The former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Chief Adebayo Adelabu enjoined Nigerians especially the people of Oyo state to celebrate the day peacefully in their respective domains.
