A leading light in the Engineering world, David Olusegun Okanlawon has bagged “Honorary Doctorate Degree of Business Administration (DBA), Honoris Causa, conferred on him by Maverick Business Academy London, UK.
In his acceptance speech, the illustrious son of Idere, in Ibarapa zone of Oyo-State, Engr Okanlawon stated that,”I am overwhelmed with gratitude to have been recognized and nominated to receive this Honorary Doctorate Degree of Business Administration DBA (Honoris Causa) by Maverick Business Academy London, UK.
While nostalgically recalling, the seasoned investor, Okanlawon stated that,”I am honored that my track record in business and human capital investment is recognized in this way. It’s been a long journey with very many challenges surmounted. It means so much to me that the work I am passionate about resonates with others, most especially to the management of Maverick Business Academy London, who decided to confer on me this prestigious honor after conducting proper scrutiny and background search.
“On this note, I accept this award, acknowledging my willingness and joy to accept this Honorary conferment”, he noted.
“I have excelled in businesses, project management, and professional studies due to the unrelenting quest for success, which has been my working mantra since childhood. This mantra has helped me to skip hurdles, conquer impossibilities, and earned me deserved victories including this noble honor”, Okanlawon reminisced.
Engr Okanlawon furthered his speech and revealed that,”I’ve steered the course of affairs as a leader figure in business and my professional career, having served in various capacities in telecommunications and highway engineering with different companies, a notable one being one of those executing Niger Delta Developmental Commission(NDDC) projects.
“I have also ventured into businesses ranging from travel and tours, Auto Business, logistics and constructions, and construction, and of course, I did establish my own company under the name 04 Multipurpose Unique Concept Limited, and Luli Construction Company on the way.
The notable Philanthropist, Engr David Olusegun Okanlawon maintained that,”I have also learned to give back to the community that raised and nurtured me by establishing a foundation (the Olusegun Okanlawon Foundation). The foundation aims at enabling sustainable development, youths empowerment, and support programs.
He continued,”Since the inception of the foundation in 2018, my team of progressive youths and I have achieved a very long list of notable impacts on communities, youths, the aged, and the less privileged. Till date, we keep researching for better ways to impact people and develop our community.
“Conclusively, I seize this medium to congratulate fellow Awardees. It is important to acknowledge that everyone is deserving of this prestigious honor.
