Former President Muhammadu Buhari is dead.

His spokesman until his death, Mallam Garba Shehu, confirmed this in a statement he issued on Sunday afternoon.

According to available information, Buhari died on Sunday in a hospital in the United Kingdom.

The family has announced the passing of the former president, Muhammadu Buhari, this afternoon, in a clinic in London.
