Kaduna Abductions: Defence Minister Is Confident of Student Rescue
The Minister of Defence, Muhammed Badaru Abubakar, has expressed confidence that the abducted students of Kuriga in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State will soon be rescued.
Addressing troops of 1 Division in Kaduna on Thursday, the Minister assured Nigerians that the perpetrators behind the killings of military officers and soldiers in Okuama community, Delta State, would be apprehended and brought to justice.
During his visit to the frontline troops engaged in combating banditry in the North-West and other regions, Badaru emphasised the importance of perseverance and determination in the fight against insecurity.
He conveyed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s appreciation for the soldiers’ sacrifices and commitment to restoring peace and security in the country. Badaru assured the troops of the president’s unwavering support and urged them to maintain high morale.
Asserting the government’s resolve to end insecurity, the minister stated, “We have the power, will, strength, and determination to end insecurity. I know what you have been doing to rescue the schoolchildren unhurt; keep the morale high, the President is behind you one hundred percent.
Badaru revealed that he had been briefed on the ongoing efforts to rescue the kidnapped schoolchildren and expressed confidence in the troops’ ability to succeed in their mission.
