‘Let’s Support Our Country, Not Destroy It’ – Hon Oladiran Alabi Cautions Nigerians Against Protest
In a passionate appeal to Nigerians, Hon. Oladiran Alabi, a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, has urged citizens to shelve plans for protest and instead adopt more civil and constructive ways to express their grievances.
Speaking in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, Alabi emphasised the need for Nigerians to support the government and work together to build a better future for the country. “We are facing challenging times, not just in Nigeria but globally,” he acknowledged. “However, we must not allow our frustrations to be hijacked by those who seek to destroy our nation.”
Alabi praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for its efforts to address the country’s challenges, citing the provision of palliatives to cushion the effects of hunger and food scarcity. He also highlighted the government’s plans, policies and programmes aimed at repositioning Nigeria for greatness.
The APC stalwart warned Nigerians against the dangers of protest, citing the examples of Kenya and the End SARS movement in Nigeria, which were hijacked by violent elements, leading to regrettable consequences. “When protests turn violent, they rarely end well,” he cautioned. “Let us find safer and more constructive ways to make our voices heard.”
Alabi’s appeal comes at a time when Nigerians are facing numerous challenges, including economic hardship, food scarcity, and insecurity. However, he remains optimistic about the country’s future, urging citizens to support the government’s efforts to address these challenges.
“Let us love Nigeria, not destroy it,” he emphasised. “We are all stakeholders in this nation, and it is our collective responsibility to build a better future for ourselves and generations to come.”
