Mawlud Nabbiy: I Congratulate My Fellow Brothers and Sisters in Islam – Senator Soji Akanbi.

The immediate past Senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi has felicitated with Muslim faithful across the world on the occasion of this year’s Mawlud Nabbiy celebration.

The Front line Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC), in the state, Senator Akanbi, in his Mawlud Nabbiyy message made available to newsmen, early today, in Ibadan, charged Muslims to use the occasion to foster peace, unity and tranquility in our communities.

Akanbi also called on Nigerians to use the festive period to seek Allah’s intervention in Nigerian affairs.

Senator Akanbi wrote, “On the occasion of this year’s Mawlud Nabiyy celebration, on behalf of myself, family, friends and supporters, I congratulate my fellow brothers and sisters in Islam. Happy Mawlud Nabiyy.

“Of course, today is significant not only because it was the day the best of mankind and blessing to Humanity, Prophet Muhammad(SAW) was born but also because it is a day to reflect on his teachings and ways of life.

“At this critical point in time, it is fundamental to emphasise one of the most sacred of his teachings –’PEACE’, especially, to promote peaceful coexistence.

“Prophet Muhammad throughout his life emphasized how important it is for us to embrace peace and foster unity, always.

“As Nigerians, we are presently, at a very sensitive time when we have to coexist peacefully and tolerate each other, more than ever before.

“As we celebrate the birth of the Noble Prophet, Sayidinah Muhammad, I charge everyone of us to see it as an avenue to continue to engage in acts that will not hinder the peace and tranquility in our respective domain.

“I also urge us all to use this auspicious occasion to call on the Almighty Allah to make Nigeria more peaceful, united, secure and prosperous”, Akanbi concluded.

Mawlud Nabbiy is a special day in Islamic calendar to remember the birth of Prophet Muhammad. The day falls on the 12th day of Rabiul Awal of Islamic lunar calendar every year. Every year, Muslims around the world celebrate the day by large street processions, distributing food and charity, and talks and sermons, about the life of the holy prophet.
