Morufu’s Not Ungrateful to Nigeria !! By Morufu Smith .
Citizen Morufu Smith has enjoyed the opportunity of being a soil-son of Nigeria. He was born when the country was coming out of the civil war. If Nigerian troops had not repelled the attacks of the Biafran soldiers, allowing them to make fatal incursions into the West where he was born, his mother, carrying him as a pregnancy might have been caught in the crossfire of the civil war, maimed or killed. The first, most important need a citizen requires from his or her government is the security of life and property.
In a country many regarded as a failure, Morufu has got good education, is employable and self-employed, is fairly comfortably sheltered with his family and is raising a thriving family. Nigeria has done good things for him, though the country can do more. Morufu Smith won’t be ungrateful for the ‘little’ Nigeria has done for him. If Morufu has been able to be a little bit impacting to his society in the areas of his career callings, it’s because his country had allowed him to acquire the requisite knowledge and skills.
He hasn’t lost hope that Nigeria will be better and will do more for her citizens. Citizens should also recognise that they have roles to play in helping Nigeria to help them more.
Nigeria shall be greater in our lifetime!
