Hello!
Welcome to another gist feature. For two weeks, we have tried to examine our existence in the mirror of the things that are divinely expected of us. Last week’s gist introduced us into the need to be fruitful as the first dimension of the 5 fold mandate, the aspects of fruitfulness in a man’s life was also elaborated. Multiply is the second dimension of the 5 fold mandate and it appears to me more like a command – multiply.
Multiplication according to Thesaurus is increase, growth, development and reproduction. Just like we know that man is multi-dimensional in respect to his approach to life, biological make-up, relationship with people and lifestyle, he is expected to multiply in all of these dimensions. Financial, social, psychological, marital, spiritual, educational and other aspects of man’s life should experience multiplication.
To multiply financially, man is expected to be diligent, smart, sensitive and positioned to maximise networking opportunities and investment that will increase his net worth. Multiplication in the area of marriage can be felt when it spreads goodness to other families that is when man’s marriage is positively felt. In career, man’s multiplication can be connected to his growth and upward movement to the apex; this shows that training, up-skilling and development necessary to make this growth possible must be embraced. Man can also multiply by reproducing himself, not only through childbearing but also through mentoring and investing into lives. Multiplication entails as much effort as growing a seed.
Man’s spiritual multiplication can be achieved through activities that will enhance his knowledge of and relationship with the divine; and an in-depth experience of the supernatural. We can keep illustrating how the aspects of man’s life can manifest multiplication but let me leave that to you; a self realisation that will encourage multiplication in every area of your life will not be a bad idea. Will it?
My final word to you will then be, ‘in your bid to multiply, never ever go beyond the limit. Do not crush humanity and remember the law of karma’. No matter how much we gather wealth in monetary value and no matter how long we live, we will only be remembered by what we have done whether good, bad or ugly. In most cases, it is preferred to multiply in impact value (positively influencing lives) than having a million cottages of treasuries because we came into the world empty and empty shall we leave.
