NANS President Hopeful , Alli Egbesola , Wages War Against Raping , Extra Judicial Killings , Calls on Government .
“ALL LIVES MATTERS ; JUSTICE FOR ALL”
“In order to escape being responsible for his crimes, the perpetrator of evils does everything in his power to go into hiding. When secrecy is about to be uncovered , the perpetrator attacks the credibility of his victim. If he cannot silence him or her absolutely, he tries to make sure that no one listens . “
At this critical time when world is facing the challenges poised by the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic, it is very disheartening and sardonic that some animals in human skin are now on rampage of rapping, maiming , kidnapping and killing of people around the world.
In the recent time, one of our Nigerian Students from Uniben, Uwa Omozua, a 22years old microbiology student was brutally raped and murdered by unknown assailants inside a church premises where she went to read. Another one is that of Jennifer , a little girl of 12 year old who was raped by 11men at limawa quarters in Dutse Local government area of Jigawa State.
Despite that the world in loudest voices is demanding for justice on that two recent cases, the devilish people did not stop their acts . In this June of year 2020, another ugly incident occurred again at the student community of Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology, Moore Plantation Apata Ibadan . Bello Barakat of Science Laboratory Technology department was rapped and murdered again.
Why! Why!! Why are they after our female students, our child- girls always? . Are our females not safe again?. On the road , they are not feeling safe. In the schools , they are not feeling safe . At worship centres, they are not feeling safe, even in their houses , they are not safe. Who will save us from these evil perpetrators?. Where is the safe place for our females?. We must all rise up to wage total war against “RAPE“ and encourage government to promulgate laws which treat rapists as murderers and sanction them accordingly .
Another sad incident that is happening across the land is that of armed officials that are killing innocent people extra judicially. The incident of Mr. Odusina Opeyemi and Sekinat , a 15 year old student and resident of Agososa both at Ihunbo in Ipokia Local government in Ogun state who were killed by officers of Nigerian Custom Service. Nigeria Police have not also stopped their extra judicial killings of innocent people . The most recent of the unlawful termination of lives by Police is that of Tina Ezekwe . A 16 year old girl that was hit by a police stray bullet on Tuesday 26th May 2020.
We stand totally against extra judicial killings and demand that all erring officers must be brought to book .
” Black Lives Matters. All Lives Matters “;
Internationally, on May 25, 2020, George Perry Floyd, an African-American was killed in the Powderhorn community of Minneapolis, Minnesota. While Floyd was handcuffed and lying face down on a city street during an arrest, Derek Chauvin, a white American Minneapolis police officer, kept his knee on the right side of Floyd’s neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds according to the criminal complaint against Chauvin,2 minutes and 53 seconds of that time occurred after Floyd became unresponsive.
Emphatically:
Our Message to the Rapist is that they think twice before they pull down their trousers and rape a girl or lady ; she may be their mother, sister or friend, even their lover and they know the consequences that follows . Desist or you will heavily pay for you crime very soon .
To Nigerian government, we know that you can do it if you truly mean business to curb these rising crime waves . Yes, government must bring those evil perpetrators to book without fear or favour.
Our Message to all Nigerians is that this is not the time to keep silent. Your voices matter and it can still be heard even from comfort of your home . We can join online protest, if that is the least we can do from our homes , please, let us act .
We fervently pray that may God give the family of victims fortitude to bear this irreparable loss .
#Justice for Uwa
#Justice for Tina
#Justice for Jennifer
#Justice for Barakat
#Justice for George Floyd
Yes, Justice for all.
“All Lives Matter”.
