NANS Southwest Coordinator’s Visit to Lagos State: A Celebration of Leadership and Collaboration

In a historic visit, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Southwest Coordinator, Comrade Alao John, congratulated three NANS leaders appointed as Senior Special Assistants (SSA) to the Governor of Lagos State. This milestone marked a significant achievement for the student body and paved the way for further collaboration with the state government.

The visit commenced with a congratulatory and induction ceremony, where the three NANS leaders—Hon. Kappo Olawale Samuel, Hon. Giwa Moore, and Hon. Eniola Opeyemi—were formally inducted into the NANS Hall of Fame. This prestigious recognition acknowledged their dedication, leadership, and contributions to the student community. The coordinator praised their achievements, emphasising the importance of student leadership and engagement in governance.

Following the induction, the NANS leadership met with the Commissioner of Basic and Secondary Education, Lagos State, the Honourable Tolani Jamiu Ali-Balogun. The meeting aimed to strengthen the partnership between NANS and the state government, focusing on enhancing education and student welfare. Discussions centred on critical issues, including improved infrastructure, academic excellence, and student empowerment.

The visit showcased the growing influence of NANS in Nigeria’s educational landscape and highlighted the organisation’s commitment to fostering collaboration between students, government, and stakeholders. By recognising outstanding student leaders and engaging with policymakers, NANS demonstrated its dedication to shaping the future of education and empowering young Nigerians.
