NANS Zone D Commiserates With MAPAITES, EKSUITES, Others Over Death Of Students.
The attention of the leadership of National Association of Nigerian Students Southwest Zone (NANS Zone D) was drawn to the demise of four undergraduates of different tertiary institutions across the Zone.
Ashaolu Christiana Adebola, an HND1 student of Mass Communication Department was involved in a ghastly accident in the early hours of Sunday, 14th March 2021 while returning from Church. She had her last breath while being rushed to the Hospital. Until her death, she was a student of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta in Ogun State writing her semester exams.
The Deputy Coordinator of the Zone, Comrade Oladimeji Uthman paid a visit to the colleagues of the deceased to commiserate with them and further sympathized with the department of the deceased.
Comrade Oladimeji Uthman urged the friends and family of the deceased to stay strong and comforted as they proceed in the journey of life. He encouraged them that, “on the path of life are immeasurable challenges, we must pick ourselves up after every fall and continue as sojourners that we are until we reach our destined destinations.
Oladimeji assured that the students leadership will take proactive action in bringing the reckless driver of the said vehicle to book.
The Deputy Coordinator, Comrade Oladimeji also assured the family and friends of the deceased that the late student will be immortalized and justice won’t be delayed or denied.
Similarly, the association leadership recount other unfortunate demise of Nigerian Students recorded over the last weekend in the Southwest Geopolitical Zone, Wahab Kazeem of Tai Solarin College of Education, Omu-Ijebu, Ogun State, Pamilerin of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti and Allison Faruq of Federal University of Agriculture, who all lost the fight for their lives to varying cases of illness. He said the Zonal Leadership nurses serious concern for the recurring cases of loss of lives of students.
The leadership of the zone commiserated with the management of institutions, friends and family, colleagues for this great loss and that we all as Nigerian students must unite at this juncture as we raise our voices for sacred prayers and supplications to Almighty God seeking mercy for the deceased and divine protection and preservation for those of us that are still here.
The Coordinator NANS Zone D, Comrade Kappo Olawale Samuel expressed shock when he received the news of the death of his members. He sympathized with the Students Union Leadership and fellow students of the deceased. He also emphasised the need for divine intervention in the sorrowful and recurring news of death of his member.
He announced that in the light of the situation on ground, the leadership of all Nigerian Students in Southwest will declare a seven day fasting and prayer for aversion of evil over the students constituency in the nation at large. He pleaded that all Nigerian Students, Students Union Leadership, State Axis Chairmen and religious associations on campuses to support and monitor their members as they unanimously observe the fasting and prayers.
