Next-Gen Oyo APC Founder, Akintayo Bukunmi, Rallies Youths with Independence Day Message

As Nigeria marked her 65th Independence Anniversary, the founder of Next-Gen Oyo APC, Akintayo Bukunmi (Bukem), used the occasion to call for greater youth inclusion in governance, assuring young people in Oyo State and across the country of strong representation in the political arena.

Bukunmi, in a statement on Tuesday, said the time has come for Nigerian youths to move from the fringes to the centre of political participation, stressing that their energy, innovation, and aspirations are key to driving national development.

“At Next-Gen Oyo APC, we recognise the invaluable role of young people in shaping the future of our state and our nation. We hear your voices, we understand your struggles, and we are committed to ensuring that youths are no longer bystanders but active participants in governance and policy-making,” he declared.

He further pledged that the group would champion youth-inclusive policies, noting that empowering young people politically would not only give them visibility but also strengthen the country’s democratic growth.

“We pledge to give our youths the good representation they deserve, to champion their aspirations, and to promote youth-inclusive policies that will not only make young people visible in the political space but also indispensable in the journey of national development,” Bukunmi added.

While concluding, the Next-Gen Oyo APC founder congratulated Nigerians on the nation’s independence and prayed for a more united and progressive Nigeria: “As we celebrate this 65th Independence Anniversary, may our unity remain unshaken, may our hope for a better Nigeria remain alive, and may the dreams of the Nigerian youth find fulfilment in our collective progress.
