Nigeria At 61: Inclusive Governance Is The Only Panacea to The Rising Insecurity Waves – Engr Open Salawu Says.
Former Aide to the governor of Oyo-State, Engr Muftau Open Salawu(FNSE) has greeted Nigerians, especially, the good people of Ogbomoso Land, in Oyo-State, on the occasion of this year Nigeria’s independence anniversary.
In a statement released today in Ogbomoso to mark the 61st anniversary of the independence, the Waziri Jari Nupe, Open Salawu maintained that,”Insecurity is overwhelming the wonderful programs of the federal government and the situation can be rescued if governance can be more inclusive.
The Babalaje of Ogbomosoland, Open Salawu stated that,”The Local Government Areas, also, are too idle for the kinds of development that can solve the problem on ground. However, we deliberately or Ignorantly killed the function of the local government administrations that are actually closer to the people more than any other tier of government. The qualities of the people in charge of our local governments are also a big issue to be looked into, for productivity.
“Wonderful agricultural and society intervention programmes could have been brilliantly executed by the local governments, if they have the capacities to do so.
“The youths must to be rapidly engaged and their energies need to channeled towards production, that will better their lives and benefit the Nation at large. We have reason to celebrate more of this; Happy Independence Day”, Engineering Luminary, Salawu concluded.
