Nigeria: Yesterday, Aregbesola Presents Interior Ministry’s Position on Various Bills Before House of Reps(PHOTOS).

“Today, I was at the House of Representatives to present the Ministry of Interior’s position on various bills before the House.

The bills are; 1. A Bill for an Act to Repeal the Immigration and Prisons Services Board ACT, Cap 12 LFN, 2004 and enact the Civil Defence Corps, Correctional, Federal Fire and Immigration Services Board Act, 2021.

  1. A Bill for an Act to Repeal the Federal Fire Service Act, Cap F29 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2014 and Enact the Fire and Emergency Service Act 2021 to Provide for Additional Powers for Effective Service Delivery; and for Related Matters.
  2. A Bill for an Act to Repeal the Federal Fire Service Act, No.11 of 1963 and to Provide for the Establishment of the Fire and Rescue Service in the Federation and Provide Amongst Other Things for the Organisation, Discipline, Powers and Duties of the Federal Fire and Rescue Service and for Related Matters.
  3. A Bill for an Act to Amend the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Act of 2003 to Institutionalise Collaborate Between the Corps and Relevant Security Agencies to Strengthen its Complementary Role in the Maintenance of Law and Other.

The Ministry and Board expressed its own opinion on the Bills in the House. However, some of the Bills already have Executive versions that have been approved by the Federal Executive Council and will soon be sent to the National Assembly for passage into law.
