Nigerian Presidency : New Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Gambari Vows to Serve Diligently
Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, former ally to late Tunde Idiagbon, one of the front line technocrats during Buhari/Idi Agbon military regime and the new Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari has promised to serve Mr President and Nigeria at large diligently .
Gambari spoke at a brief interview after he assumed duties as CoS at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Wednesday.
He said what Buhari needed most from him are his competence, loyalty and support in the task of governance.
“I will serve the nation, Mr President. He needs my loyalty, competence, and support. I will serve to the best of my ability”, Gambari reiterated .
The new CoS replaced the late Abba Kyari, who died of COVID-19 complications in April this year.
The FEC meeting, which was presided over by President Buhari, observed a minute silence in honour of late Abba Kyari .
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha, had announced Ibrahim Gambari’s appointment shortly before the start of the virtual meeting of the Federal Executive Council(FEC) .
