OGC Is Committed to Oyo Socio-cultural, Economic Development – Aare Bolaji Hassan.

During the annual general meeting and “get-ogether” held recently  in Oyo town, the Chairman, Oyo Global Congress OGC), Alhaji Bolaji Hassan “Sir Sure” has called on Oyo patriots, at home and in diasporas, to support the organisation in her efforts to promote the unity among the indegenous associations of Oyo origin and ensure the development of the town.

According to the Chairman of the OGC, the Organisation is founded to promote the Yoruba cultural heritage, protect the interest of Oyo Alaafin and to ensure its development.

Alhaji Bolaji Hassan disclosed that the vision of the OGC is to strive towards forming a formidable and unifying platform where the indigenes of Oyo at home and in the diaspora could meet, interact, collaborate and work together towards enhancing the Socio-cultural, political and economic development of Oyo Alaafin. 

While addressing the gathering in Oyo, Alhaji Hassan reiterated that OGC envisioned a future where the rich cultural heritage of Oyo Alaafin is preserved and celebrated, where the values of our community are upheld, and where socio-economic and political development flourishes.”Through our commitment, passion, and collaborative efforts, we shall continue to strive towards creating a thriving and progressive society that honours our past, embraces our present, and determined to  pave the way for a brighter future for Oyo Alaafin.

The OGC Chairman emphasised that through various initiatives and programmes, the Organisation aimed at empowering and uplifting Oyo community through the promotion of inclusive growth, advocating for good governance, and providing opportunities for education, skill-building, and entrepreneurship. According to him,”the Organisation shall continue to work towards creating an environment where every individual in Oyo Alaafin can access equal opportunities, enjoy improved living standards, and participate actively in the decision-making processes that shape our future.

The OGC Chairman also called on His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, to expedite the process of selecting the new Alaafin of Oyo.”As we approach the conclusion of the selection process towards the emergence of the new  Alaafin, it is crucial that all necessary measures are taken to ensure a seamless succession. As an organisation, we understand that the selection of the new Alaafin is a crucial matter that requires careful consideration and respect for tradition. However, it is also important to ensure a prompt and smooth transition to maintain stability and continuity in the affairs of Alaafin’s traditional institution.
