Ogun APC UK Gets New Excos, Endorses Gov Dapo Abiodun for 2nd Term.

Ogun State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in United Kingdom (OGAPC-UK) has elected new leaders that will steer the affairs of the state party chapter,in UK, till 2027.

During the Congress that was held on Sunday, October 23, 2022, in London, Hon. Andrew Taiwo emerged as chairman.

Other elected executives are Hon. Olaiwola Odusanwo as Deputy Chairman; Hon. Kola Olanrewaju as Treasurer; Hon. (Alhaji) Ganiyu Adejumo as Financial Secretary and Hon. (Mrs) Toyin Soyinka as Women Leader. Also Hon. Olabode Fagbemi emerged as Deputy Secretary. Hon. Francis Akpan-Inwang announced the elected officers on behalf of the Congress Committee.

The Congress was witnessed by both current and old members. In attendance were APC chieftains- in persons of Hon.(Otunba) Ayo Balogun (The first ever chairman of the Chapter), Hon Chief Mrs Ifedolapo Ajayi, Aare Aregbe and other stalwarts.

Before the election proper, in accordance with the Party constitution, the Congress was well planned and organised as all aspirants were given allocated time to address the members on their plans and what they have in stock to move the party forward.

The newly elected Chairman, Hon Andrew Taiwo who was vying for the 2nd term before his emergence, brilliantly responded to series of questions asked by party members.

While giving acceptance speech, Hon Andrew Taiwo, appreciated the party members and leaders. He encouraged party stalwarts to intensify efforts and work together, by coming up with action plans, to ensure landslide victory during the re-election of His Excellency, Governor (Prince) Dapo Abiodun (PDA) for 2nd term bid.

Hon. Taiwo maintained that re-emergence of Prince Dapo Abiodun will afford the helmsman opportunity to consolidate on his exemplary achievements, in the first term, especially, for the benefits of all Gateway state’s citizens.

In Hon. Taiwo’s words,”On behalf of myself and the entire excos- elect, I appreciate all the amiable members and leaders of our great party, Ogun APC in UK. I sincerely thank you all for your immense support and genuine commitments towards the cause of our great party. By His Grace, we shall not labour in vain and victory is ours, come 2023(Amen).

He continued, “I want to humbly charge us all to intensify efforts and work together, as a formidable team, and by coming up with action plans to ensure the re-election bid of His Excellency, Governor (Prince) Dapo Abiodun (PDA) for 2nd term bid. As we all know, the re-emergence of Prince Dapo Abiodun as governor will give our performing Governor opportunities, to consolidate on his ongoing legendary achievements, in his this first term, and this is for the overall best interests and benefits of all the citizens of the gateway State.

Hon. Taiwo on behalf of other executives, saluted the party faithful, for the confidence they reposed in him and he promised to remain committed to the foundational ideals, ethos and principles of progressivism.

At the end of the congress, the party members, in attendance, unanimously endorsed Gov. Dapo Abiodun for second term.
