Ogun State : APC UK Elects New Executives , Commends Dapo Abiodun .
The United Kingdom(UK) branch of All Progressives Congress(APC) , Ogun State Chapter has elected new leadership through a congress conducted virtually with the parade of contestants and the leadership of the party has also used the avenue to commend the giant strides of Ogun state governor , Prince Dapo Abiodun since his resumption to office.
This is contained in the communique issued at the end of the congress and signed by the Deputy secretary , Mr Olabode Fagbemi .
As stated by the communique, this newspaper; AFRICANOTRUMPETERS.COM learnt that the voting and counting were done openly and the congress has produced Hon. Andrew Adewunmi Taiwo as the new chairman . Others who were also elected are ; Mr Olabode Fagbemi as Deputy Secretary , Alhaji Ganiyu Adejumo as Financial Secretary , Mr Kola Olanrewaju as Treasurer , Mrs Abike Moses as Women Leader and Mr Kayode Shosinde as Youth Leader.
The congress also received the reports of the interim leadership that has managed the affairs of the party in the last two years under the watch of Barrister Dapo Oduwole and the stewardship accounts showed that the interim executives have stabilised the membership process and contributed to the activities of the party at grassroot levels in Ogun state and Nigeria at large .
The communique further indicated that the Chairman, Adewunmi Taiwo, in his acceptance speech thanked all members for the confidence reposed on him and the new executives . He pointed out that the accepted desire of the party is to contribute positively in terms of ideas, policies and investments to Ogun state governance under the leadership of Prince Dapo Abiodun.
“With the emergence of the new executives, it is a new beginning for the chapter and I encourage every member to be ready for the task ahead with renewed zeal to mobilise membership in the United Kingdom(UK) and contribute to good governance irrespective of the challenges”, chairman -elect added .
The newly elected chairman on behalf of other executives and entire members commended Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for the display of maturity in the handling of political issues and government affairs since assumption of office.
He also commended Dapo Abiodun led administration for the prompt response to the coronavirus pandemic and enjoined residents of the state to keep the virus at bay by practising safe ethics such as washing their hands, wearing masks and keeping social distances .
