Ogun State : APC UK Hosts Virtual Town Hall Meeting , Discusses Rural Development , Commends Dapo Abiodun .

The All Progressives Congress(APC) United Kingdom(UK) branch of Ogun State chapter under the chairmanship of Hon. Andrew Adewunmi Taiwo has held first virtual town hall meeting and discussed rural development in the state. And the UK branch of the party commended Gov. Dapo Abiodun for His laudable achievements in rural development sector and all other sectors of governance .

” PRESS RELEASE
Ogun State APC UK under the leadership of Hon. Andrew Taiwo has successfully hosted its first ever virtual Town Hall Meeting on Saturday 04 July 2020. The Special Guest was the Ogun Sate Commissioner for Rural Development, Hon. (Engr) Oludotun Taiwo. Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Foreign Investment, Hon. Adenekan also attended the virtual Town Hall Meeting. The event was coordinated by the popular TV Award Winner, Ms Julia Olayinka, an indigene of Ogun State and also member of Ogun State APC UK.

The meeting had in attendance members of the Ogun State APC UK, South West APC UK members and other indigenes of Ogun State in the diaspora .
The Special Guest, Engr Oludotun Taiwo, addressed the house and firstly gave detailed accounts of the activities and efforts of Ogun State Governor, His Excellency , Prince Dapo Abiodun geared towards the curtailment of the COVID-19 pandemic in the State. He informed the house about the creation of isolation centres set up in the three senatorial districts in the State and the mobile testing units all over the State.

Regarding the activities of the Ministry of Rural Development, Honourable Commissioner informed the house that the ministry was established in 2012 and the ministry works in partnership with all other ministries in the state to provide basic infrastructural facilities in rural areas in order to curb the rising waves of rural – urban migration . He informed the House that his ministry , in the last one year, has tremendously provided sustainable energy and other social amenities to different local areas in the state. He further stated that the state government is still working seriously to do more and make life more better for her citizenry . He informed the house of the plan of His Excellency , Prince Dapo Abiodun to provide water for nearly 1,800 schools in the State.

Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on foreign investment, Hon. Adenekan informed the house of the special department created by the Governor for direct foreign investment into the state. He sought for the assistance and support of Ogun state indigenes in diaspora in the area of flow of direct foreign investment into the state and he stated that he could be contacted directly regarding any information and participation with the state government in the area of foreign investment into the State .

The chairman of Ogun State chapter of APC UK branch , Hon. Andrew Taiwo , on behalf of all executives and members, thanked the special guest, Senior Special Assistant to the governor and other eminent indigenes of Ogun state in attendance. He appreciated the information provided to the house and appreciated His Excellency , Prince Dapo Abiodun for setting Ogun state on the path of progress and prayed for more wisdom and God’s guidance for the Mr Governor and grace to implement His great vision and plans for Ogun State.
