Olubadan: You’re Shameless “Faceless Sycophants” Misleading Makinde – Group Fires Oyo Governor’s Defenders.

The Oyo for Good Government Group has dismissed a statement made by a group it described as a faceless one, that calls itself Oyo Kajola Group which attacked Professor Adeolu Akande, Chairman of Nigerian Communications Commission(NCC) for advising Governor Seyi Makinde to return to Oyo State and provide leadership in the wake of the passage of the Olubadan of Ibadanland,Oba Saliu Adetunji Ogungunniso 1.

In a statement released in Ibadan on Friday and signed by Publicity Secretary of the Group,Debola Ajisafe, the Oyo For Good Government Group stated that the so called Oyo Kajola Group has only confirmed that Governor Makinde is surrounded by mindless and shameless sycophants who shy away from telling the governor the truth about his responsibilities to the people of the state.

“It is quite unconscionable that there would be people telling Governor Makinde that it is appropriate for him to abdicate his responsibility to the people of Oyo State at a time like this. It is unconscienable that there are individuals who will tell the governor that almost  one whole week after the passage of the Olubadan,he does not owe the people of Ibadanland in particular and Oyo State in general the responsibility of returning to the state and provide leadership.

“The call on Governor Makinde is also a reminder to him that he has a cultural responsibility to commiserate with the bereaved family of the Olubadan and the people of the state over the demise of the first class Oba. Governance is not about the convenience of the governor as the faceless  group suggested in its release. It is about sacrificing your comfort in the service of the people. “It is laughable that the group alluded to process of governance in their diatribe. Do they know that by his absence from the state, the governor had denied the eminent stool of Olubadan the respect of many dignitaries who ought to come on condolence visit to the State but could not do so because of the absence of the governor who is supposed to be the chief mourner? “We don’t represent Professor Akande but we state without equivocation that his opinion represents the opinion of majority of reasonable people in Oyo State.
“We have no fear to echo the call on Governor Seyi Makinde to return from wherever he is to provide leadership in the state at this time. That is what he was elected to do.”
