OLUYOLE: I’m Contesting to Serve My People Diligently – MHR Hopeful, Ayoade Rasheed Adegboyega “ARA” Declares Ambition.

A Project Manager and Data Privacy Consultant, who is based in the United Kingdom(UK), Honourable Ayoade Rasheed Adegboyega popularly known as “ARA”, has revealed that the people of Oluyole Federal Constituency would enjoy purposeful representation if he is allowed to represent the constituency from 2023.

ARA contested the 2019 House of Representatives’ bid before the then governor and leader of the party, Senator Abiola Ajimobi settled for the incumbent.

In a chat with journalists in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, shortly after returning from the National Convention of the party, ARA explained that “Yes, I participated in the electioneering process in 2018/2019 with the aim of securing the ticket to represent Oluyole Federal Constituency at the National Assembly but unfortunately, our leader at the time, His excellency former Governor Abiola Ajimobi (may God rest his soul) decided to anoint a candidate, even, though I had a very good chance of securing the ticket had we gone for primaries.

“I am contesting again this time because of my desire to serve my people and my never say die attitude towards life.”

Asked that the incumbent is from his party and it may not be an easy ride, he noted that,“You cannot jettison your dreams because of a minor setback. If you’re really serious about it in the first instance,” adding that,“I am not the one to criticize to score cheap political points. I believe the incumbent has tried her best, but this is a democracy and we must give people the opportunity to elect their representatives without imposition, fear or favour.”

He said that he was confident of winning the primaries and the general election.

“Election, they say, is a popularity contest; every aspirant is free to test his or her popularity. At the end of the day what really matters is the development and progress of the good people of Oluyole Federal Constituency.

“I have the requisite experience and cerebral capacity to take Oluyole Federal Constituency to the next level in development and also contribute my quota to the progress of our country by being diligent in my legislative duties.

“I am coming in with fresh ideas and new ways of working. We can’t continue to do things the same way and expect different result. It is time for a change in approach, ideas and narratives.”

He also spoke on the crisis rocking the opposition APC in the state.

“There has never been a political party without internal wrangling or crisis as you put it, since politics in itself is about interest and people would always have conflicting interests, but a good political party like APC always have internal conflict resolution process that will resolve issues as they arise. I want to assure you that now that the convention is over and new national executives are in place; all crisis will be resolved and Oyo APC will be set up for victory in the coming elections in 2023.”

He urged “the people of Oluyole Federal Constituency should expect adequate representation and never seen before empowerment drive and opportunity for all constituents if I am given the opportunity to represent them.”
