Ondo Decides : Fatai Buhari Felicitates With Akeredolu On His Re-election, Commends , APC, INEC, Security, Other Stakeholders .
Senator AbdulFatai Omotayo Buhari, Chairman Senate Committee on Land Transport and the federal lawmaker representing Oyo North Senatorial District in the National Assembly has felicitated with the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu SAN, on his re-election victory at the just concluded gubernatorial election in the state.
Governor Akeredolu of the All Progressives Congress APC scored a total vote of 292,830 to defeat Mr Eyitayo Jegede of the People’s Democratic Party PDP who scored 195,791 and Mr Agboola Ajayi of the Zenith Labour Party, who equally scored 69,127 to emerge winner.
Buhari described Akeredolu’s victory as a result of consistent and unprecedented all inclusive leadership and governance which has brought unbelievable impacts to the good people of the state.
” I was overwhelmed with the massive turn out of the populace .The aged came out en mass to vote for the APC for continuity and defended their votes; payback for the credible and purposeful leadership of Arakunrin Akeredolu. Plenty thank you to the good people of Ondo state for the love and show of gratitude”.
” The efforts of the security agencies, observers and other relevant internal and external stakeholders at ensuring a free, fair , credible and acceptable election is appreciated. It is hoped that there will be more improvements in subsequent elections in identified areas of weaknesses.
” The APC remains indivisible as our party symbol depicts such and it is on this note that I say a very big thank you to all party leaders and loyalists, from the national to the local level, for ensuring that unity reigns in the party which has yielded very fruitful results at the polls”.
‘The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) must be commended because they kept improving and it is hoped that the few lapses discovered in the last election will be corrected ahead of future polls so that the people can have more confidence in them”,the Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Industry posited.
Senator Buhari while assuring the good people of the Sunshine State that they will not regret voting APC for another term of four years, also implored the governor elect to move straight to governance, put in more people oriented policies and bring governance to the grassroot by running an all inclusive government that he is known for and to prove critics wrong .
