Opinion: COVID-19, Politicians And Relief Materials

Picture

Kudos to all leaders and politicians that have actively campaigned against COVID-19 popularly known as Corona Virus and thanks to those that have moved beyond a step by providing hand sanitizers and other related kits, once again, appreciations .

As Yoruba adage says that ;”Ona Ofun Nin Ona Orun”, meaning that the only deadly way is hunger, so, it is high time that people-loving politicians and philanthropists come to the aids of commoners by providing them with relief materials as the side effects of Corona Virus is hunger.

It is not a gainsaying that politicians across political divides have multi Billions of Naira to expend in order to win masses’ supports come 2023, and it is wiser and smarter to rescue the masses now rather than waiting till 2023; #GiveThemReliefMaterials, ProvideThemWithDailyNeeds.

We are not saying that you have not tried your best but you can still do more as it is not over until it is over, and friends are known during the time of adversity. If we help masses now by aiding their daily needs, we have helped them to stay indoor, peradventure, we have immensely contributed to war against Corona Virus and we have reduced our own chances of contacting it because the more common it is, the more chances of many people contacting it, and the more vulnerable everyone is, “No One Is Helping Humanity Without Helping Himself”.

Kudos to FG and all state governments in Nigeria but governments need to intensify efforts to curb this deadly monster called Corona Virus and beyond hand sanitizers and enlightenment programmes, masses need subsidy on food items and other daily needs, also, governments need to put in place, social security programs that will take care of this emergency if truly government means business and they want people to obediently stay indoor. Government can relate financial institutions, credit those with BVN numbers that have less down 50,000Naira in their bank accounts with substantial amount of money and use other means to reach out to the commoners that have no BVN numbers or even those without any account numbers, and top it up time to time till when we are able to come out of this emergency and also, to monitor proper inflow and even circulation of food items and other daily needs among the masses .
