Our Custodial Centres Are Now Red Zones – Says Interior Minister, Aregbesola.

Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola has declared that the Nigerian Correctional Centres have become red zones for the invaders.

Aregbesola stated this during his tour to Agodi Maximum Custodial Centre, in Ibadan and the Maximum Security Custodial Centre, in Olomi, Oyo state.

“In continuation of my tour of Correctional Facilities in the country, I visited the Agodi Maximum Custodial Centre, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital in company of the Controller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, CG Haliru Nababa”,he narrated.

“I also visited the Maximum Security Custodial Centre, in Olomi, Oyo state. I was impressed with the level of work and facility made available for use of the inmates. Soon, the facility will be put in use to decongest the Agodi Custodial Centre.

“During the tour, I charged the officers to protect the integrity of the facilities by using maximum force to deter anyone who attempts to attack any correctional centre in the country.

“Our Custodial Centres are now red zones. Whoever attempts to breach the security there is already dead. He must not live to tell the story. Other people will tell his or her story”, Aregbesola assured.

“Earlier on Friday, I had paid a working visit to the Ilesa Custodial Centre to check operations at the facility, their level of preparedness for emergency amongst others.
