Outgoing Oyo APC Women Leader, Alhaja Tinuade Adigun Congratulates Women Leader-elect, Dr Adekemi Opatunde

Alhaja Tinuade Adigun, the outgoing women leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, has congratulated the newly elected women leader, Dr Felicia Adekemi Opatunde.

The event, which was held at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, formerly known as Liberty Stadium, in Ibadan, was attended by the prominent party members, stakeholders, and supporters, marking a significant transition in leadership within the progressive party in the state.

Alhaja Adigun, who has led the women’s wing of the APC for four years, reflected on her tenure’s accomplishments. She emphasised the importance of women’s participation in politics and governance, highlighting various initiatives and programmes that have empowered women across the state during her tenure. “We have laid a solid foundation, and we’re confident in Dr Adekemi Opatunde’s experience, capacity, competence and expertise to reposition the women wing of Oyo APC and contribute immensely to the victorious outing of our great party come 2027.

In the congratulatory message laced with optimism and camaraderie, Adigun who was also elected as auditor for the party in the state, hailed Opatunde’s emergence and lauded the women leader-elect as an influential community leader, consummate politician and seasoned technocrat.

Adigun rallied support for the newly elected women leader and called for unity and collaboration among party members to ensure the success of Dr Opatunde’s leadership.

“With a strong platform of support and a clear vision for the future, the APC women in Oyo State are poised to make significant strides under the leadership of Dr Adekemi Opatunde”, Adigun enthused.

“My fellow progressive women in Oyo APC! Let’s remember, our collective goal remains re-electing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and dislodging the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State come 2027. So, let’s be united and make our great party victorious. By His grace, we shall not labour in vain, and we shall all reap the fruits of our labour”, Adigun submitted.
