Meet OYHA Hopeful, from Ibadan North State Constituency -1, Hon Kazeem Ademola Alimi.

The young “Kazeem” was born to Obekiijana family of Ile Onimefa compound, Oke – Aremo Area of Ward 3, Ibadan North Local Government in Ibadan.

His father Pa Alimi Adigun Bello is a politician and close Associate of late Chief Adegoke Adelabu Penkelemesi, late late Chief Adisa Akinloye, late Chief Richard Osuolale Akinjide, late Chief K.O.S Are and Chief Rasheed Asagidigbi.

Kazeem’s father Pa Alimi Adigun Bello is very much alive, and he gives him political advice and support, at almost 100 years of age.
His grandfather was Bello Olaore Obekiijana, a warrior friend of Aare Latosa.

For his elementary education, Kazeem attended St Paul’s Anglican primary school, Yemetu, Ibadan, and for his secondary, Holy Trinity Grammar School, Old Ife Road Ibadan. He had six (6) distinctions at one sitting in his O’level WAEC.

For his post secondary education, he attended Government Technical College , Oyo, Oyo state in 1987/88 with best diploma result in his department VBB in 1990.

As unrepentant lover of education, for his tertiary education, Kazeem received a second class upper division degree in Business Administration & Management from Delta State University Abraka in 2003. He also received B+ in Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing Management option at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, (LAUTECH)Ogbomoso in 2010.

Kazeem is an Associate Member of the various under listed professional Institute by Examinations, namely; Nigerian Institute of Management ( Chartered) NIM,
an Associate Member of National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria, ( Chartered ) ANIMN, Associate Member Institute of Chartered Mediators and Concilliators ( AICMC), an Associate Member of Institute of Chartered Secretary and Administrators of Nigeria, ICSAN ( AICS) and Student Member Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria ( CIIN) presently in Diploma & Final Stage. He was two terms elected General Secretary of Nigerian Institute of Management ( Chartered) Ibadan Chapter in keenly contested election from 2011 to 2013 and 2013 to 2015. And thrice Chairman of Election committee of NIM, 2017, 2019, and 2021. And He has been Chairman of Social and Welfare planning committee of the NIM since 2017.

As supporter of education, Kazeem was once a teacher at Star Comprehensive College, Sawmill Old Ife Road, Ibadan and Examiners of both WAEC and NECO for Commerce and Economics respectively.

Kazeem Alimi has great interest and flair for academics pursue, He is presently studying Law at Lead City University, Ibadan.

He is an Insurance Practitioner with over 15 years cognate experience in Insurance Underwriting and Marketing.
He is presently the Branch Manager of Prestige Assurance Plc, Abeokuta Branch. The company He joined in August 2008.

He has been in politics since 1991 during SDP and NRC days. He was a founding member of Chief Gani Fawehinmi National Conscience Party led by Chief Femi Aborisade, Member defunct NRC, UNCP and founding member of PDP in 1998.

Kazeem was a strong follower of Barrister Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli and his Majiyagbe group which works for his election as elected Senator Oyo South Senatorial district under UNCP in 1996 election, when Senator Rasheed Ladoja was banned and replaced for his NADECO involvement cancelled political dispensation due to the death of General Sanni Abacha, His emergence as Secretary to the Oyo State Government in 2003, First Chief of Staff to the Oyo State Government 1n 2006 by former Governor Ladoja and Chairman Odua Conglomerate in 2011 by late former Governor Abiola Ajimobi.

Kazesm Alimi was a member of PDP Ibadan North Planning and Campaign committee for the emergence of former Governor Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja in 2003 and he joined ACN with his leader Sharafadeen Alli in 2011, and joined APC in October 2018 after he lost the ticket of PDP in a keenly contested PDP primary into Oyo State House of Assembly for 2019 general elections due to some leaders improper and veto action at the venue of party primary, last minute change of some delegates.

Kazeem Alimi contributed immensely to the election of Hon. Musiliudeen Olaide Akinremi Jagaban in 2019 as Member House of Representative, Representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency in Abuja. He was a state delegate of APC for the party convention in 2022 and primaries. Alimi is a recognized party leader in APC Ibadan North Local Government of Oyo State in the camp of Alhaji Musiliudeen Adewale Sanusi.

Convincingly, Kazeem will bring his wealth of rich political intellectualism and experiences into the legislative process if elected as member, Oyo State House of Assembly representing Ibadan North Local Government constituency 1. He will be able to participate actively in the floor of the house with his knowledge and excellent educational background.

His social life, Apart from being an indigene of Ibadan; He is presently the General Secretary of Ibadan Best Icon, A social Cultural Club affiliated with Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII).
He was a member of Award committee of just concluded 2022 Ibadan Cultural week. Also a member of Public Relations and CCII Rebranding Committee appointed by the President General of CCII Prince Oluyemisi Adetayo Adeaga.

Kazeem is also an active member of Great-15 social club formed by his co – landlord in his Estate of permanent residence in Ibadan and he is a very active member in all his schools’ Alumni Associations.
