As part of their efforts to ensure that people-centric leaders are elected into political offices, in Oyo State, a frontline socio-political group, within the All Progresaives Congress(APC), Teslim Folarin Ambassadors(TFA), has intensified efforts on the actualisation of Senator Folarin’s governorship bid, Hon Steve Adebowale Adeyoju, Stevo’s Oyo State House of Assembly candidature, in Ibadan North Constituency II, and others.
The strategic moves were made today, during a press conference held at SDM Tavern, Agodi, Total Garden, in Ibadan, while reiterating support for all APC’s Standardbearers.
While addressing press, Director General of the Group, Comrade David Oluokun stated that,”We are here to reaffirm our commitment, with over 50 support groups representatives’ across the 33 local governments in Oyo State. They are Grassroot Agric Human Rights Farmers Foundation (NGO), Igede Progressive Young Forum, Agbajowo, 66 Labour Party Agents during the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections, Adanla Descendants Union and others. They’re all powerful groups that have decided to become canvassers for our gubernatorial Candidate. They are ready for the election of Senator Folarin as Governor, Dr Femi Okunlola as Deputy Governor, Hon Steve Adeyoju as Honourable Member representing Ibadan North State Constituency II and other APC Candidates in the State Assembly elections”.
Comrade Oluokun rolled out Folarin’s achievements as third term Senator from Oyo Central Senatorial District. He cited Primary Health Care Centre in Pade, Akinyele LGA, 100 Bed State of the Art Mother and Child Specialist Hospital in University College Hospital (UCH) and others.
Oluokun continued,”Regarding education, Sen. Folarin has facilitated 88 fully furnished classrooms with public toilets, within 3 years. He has facilitated 17 state of arts ICT Centres across Oyo Central and University of Ibadan.
He has also facilitated so many road projects. This includes Abonde Ona Ara linking Oluyole Local Government, Idi-Ose Olosa Oko Road with Bridge, Estate Road in Olubadan Estate in Egbeda, over 600 streetlights across Oyo State, 50 solar powered boreholes across Oyo Central and Oja Oba Central Mosque, rural electrification in 52 communities in Oyo Central and provision of 300 and 500 KVA transformers to various communities across Oyo Central Senatorial Districts.
“On youth and women empowerments, Sen. Folarin has facilitated Vocational Hub for University of Ibadan. Over 7,000 youths and women have been trained in modern agriculture techniques, ICT Skills Acquisition, Digital Literacy and training of 500 youths on GSM repairs plus toolbox and takeoff grants. These are some of the achievements of our Candidate, Sen. Folarin as a federal lawmaker and we believe he will do more when he emerges as executive governor of Oyo State in the forthcoming election by the special Grace of God, because he is a listener and democrat. He’s compassionate, intelligent and capacious to move Oyo State from where it is to where it ought to be. We urge all residents of Oyo State to go out enmass on Saturday to vote for Senator Teslim Folarin because a vote for Teslim is a vote for betterment of the people of Oyo State.
In his thank you remarks, Comrade David Oluokun lauded their Grand Patron, Prince Niran Adeyoju, Grand Patroness, Her Excellency, Mrs Kemi Alao Akala, Patron and Senator-Elect for Oyo South District, Oloye Sharafadeen Alli, Patron, Alhaji Omilabu Gandhi, Patroness, Dr Amdalat Adepeju Esan and all the TFA State, Local government and ward executives.
In his words, The TFA Secretary, Hon Abayomi Hassan, noted that,”It is not easy but we need to appreciate our people who have stood firmly behind us. In the next few days, Sen. Folarin will be Governor-Elect. There is no one who has not contributed immensely to this struggle. I want to advise us to go back to our units and canvass people, even the oppositions. We don’t need to fight anybody. Let us try our best, and we shall coast home victory. We appreciate you all.
Hon Olatunde Adeleke highlited that,”This election is very crucial to us all. Two of my family members would have been victims of Auxiliary’s attacks but God protected them. We enjoy peace during Ajimobi tenure, even, opposition members can move around then but we can’t move around now. When I was coming here I couldn’t put on my cap until I reached this premise. Each and everyone of us should mobilize at least 10 people. A vote for APC is a vote for peace. Please, let’s enlighten them on how to vote.
On voter education, Hon. Adeleke enlightened electorates on how to vote on the day of election.”They should not use thumb. Let us use our index fingers to press the ink and cast our votes.
In attendance were Princess Omoyola Fadekemi, Chief Mrs Akinwumi Yemisi, Alhaja Adeleke, Chief Mrs Akinpelu (Women Leader), Alhaja Kudirat Kola Balogun among several others.
