Oyo: Adelabu Breaks Fast, Solidarises With Councillors Ahead of “May 7 Supreme Court Verdict”
Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress(APC) during the 2019 General Election in Oyo state, Chief Adebayo Adelabu on Thursday has hosted the democratically elected councillors across the Wards in the state to ‘break Ramadan fast’.
This Newspaper, Africano Trumpeters learnt that since the beginning of the Ramadan holy month, the former Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN) has made it a duty to be hosting different groups in the state to break fast.
Agbaakin Parakoyi Olubadan of Ibadan land, Adelabu used the event to commiserate with the Councillors’ Forum over the death of their colleagues. He prayed that, “may Allah grant their souls eternal rest. He promised to bring succour to the families of the deceased.
The financial Pundit, Adelabu lauded councillors for their steadfastness and loyalty to the party. He expressed hope that today’s Supreme Court judgement on the dissolution of the elected council officials will favour APC.
A resourceful Islamic Scholar Sheik Ganiyu Akeem Adesina during his lecture at the event prayed for a favourable Supreme Court verdict, repose of the souls of the departed councillors. He also prayed to Allah to grant Chief Adelabu’s heart desire of governing Oyo state comes 2023.
The Cleric, Akeem enjoined the councillors to solely rely on God irrespective of any challenges confronting them.
Also in his contribution, a younger brother of late governor Abiola Ajimobi and High Chief in Ibadan land, Oloye Wasiu Ajimobi commended Chief Bayo Adelabu for his love and commitment towards promoting peace and unity among APC family in the state.
While responding on behalf of the Councillors, Hon. Soji Adesokan from Akinyele Local Government thanked Chief Adelabu for his unflinching supports during their crucial time.
Adesokan described Chief Adelabu’s action as laudable and exemplary towards reviving the lost glory of the party in the state
Other dignataries at the event were Dr. Musa Alongbeja, Hon. Gbenga Olaleye, Hon. Wale Murphy, Hon. Taiwo Ige, Hon. Ajiboye, Hon. Romar, Comrade Femi Awogboro, council chairmen across the state among others.
