OYO APC 2021: “WÀÁ TI MAA GBỌ” !! By Asubiojo Olujuwon Marshal.
“Young people often overlook party politics in our aspiration to take over the political space. But that is a very costly oversight.
The party as a crucial structure in the political system determines who is presented to the public for elections and influences the policies of the government. It is where every politician draws his strength and their place of refuge when all chips are down.
That said, of about 98 registered political parties in Nigeria, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) remains the only two with the spread to jostle conveniently for the control of the Federal Government. And as such, the internal politics of these parties have national implications, the public should therefore pay attention to it, especially, as it relates to offices like that of the Youth Leader.
The ruling APC has taken the lead in party transition by authorising its structures across the country to mobilise for Congress and laudably, only persons between the ages of 18-35 years will be allowed to vie for the position of Youth Leader.
Here in Oyo State, Akin Akinwale, a vibrant young man who has been a consistent voice for the political inclusion of youths is contesting as a Youth Leader in the forthcoming Congress.
He is a top tier PR Consultant and Media Influencer with large followings on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media platforms where he advocates for causes like Not Too Young To Run and End Police Brutality.
Akinwale is an embodiment of experience and exposure coupled with a grassroots reach that spreads across and beyond Oyo State.
His astonishing administrative finesse must be connected to his close to a decade of experience in the public service where he served in the Ministry of Establishment and Traning, Office of the Head of Service and other places.
“Wàá ti ma gbọ”, loosely translated as “you must have heard” is Akinwale’s Campaign theme. Of course, you must have heard that he is coming to smoothen the political terrain for youths.
He is the man to support if you are a youth in the All Progressives Congress, and if you are on the other side, pray for an Akin as your next Youth Leader.
