Major Stakeholders, Leaders and Elders of Oyo State All Progressives Congress(Oyo APC) from Ibadan land have gathered at Civic Centre, Idi Ape, Ibadan today to unify and strengthen the party ahead of 2023 General Election.

Among prominent figures that graced the event were Oyo State Party Chairman, Chief Akin Oke, Representative of Former Oyo State Governor, Otunba Alao-Akala, in person of Hon. Wale Ohu, Senator Representing Oyo Central, Oloye Teslim Folarin, 2019 Oyo APC Guber Candidate, Chief Bayo Adelabu, Former Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Bimbo Adekanmbi, Oyo State APC Secretary, Alhaji Mojeed Olaoya, Oyo State ALGON Chairman, Prince Ayodeji Abass Aleshinloye, APC Deputy National Youth Leader, Hon. Afeez Repete, 2019 Oyo APC Guber Aspirant, Dr Olusola Ayandele, Member House of Representatives from Oluyole Federal Constituency, Hon. Tolu Sadipe, Former Minister of Sports, Prof. Taoheed Adedoja, former Oyo APC Financial Secretary, Alhaji Kayode Adanla, Oyo State APC Women Leader, Mrs William Mabel, Oyo State APC Youth Leader, Mogaji Areokuta among several others.

While declaring the meeting open, the state Party Chairman, Chief Akin Oke commended the organizers of the meeting who are major stakeholders from Ibadan. “I okayed the meeting because I’m convinced that it is meant to mend the past, make the present and victoriously move to the future comes 2023”, Oke said.

Oke encouraged APC leaders and members from Ibadan land to strengthen the unity among themselves as the zone is always at advantage of determining where the pendulum swings based on their strategic position and electoral strength.

Representative of Otunba Alao-Akala, Hon. Wale Ohu said that Otunba Alao-Akala is fully in support of the meeting and he is convinced that it will better the lots of APC in the state comes 2023. Ohu, on behalf of Otunba Alao-Akala, encouraged all major players and aspirants to see themselves as one and to be ready to work with anybody that the party later produces as flag bearer to contest for any elective position comes 2023.

Oloye Teslim Folarin advocated for coming together along all tendencies as one indivisible party ready to dislodge the current PDP ruling government in the state.

While speaking at the occasion, Chief Bayo Adelabu appreciated everybody in attendance and fostered unity among the party major players, “let us see ourselves as one and be ready to work with whoever that God later anoints as flag bearer of the party as it is only God that crowns kings”, Adelabu said.

Prince Ayodeji Abass Aleshinloye thanked all stakeholders, leaders, elders and members who have always been contributing immensely to the progress of the party, especially, on Oyo ALGON struggles. He lauded stakeholders’ tenacity and he encouraged all players to fight on as with the unity of purpose, Oyo APC remains the party to beat comes 2023.

In her own word, Hon. Saidipe thanked everybody for their calls, supports and payers during her ordeal in the hand of Covid-19. She thanked God for her recovery. “I commend all leaders and members of our great party, APC. You are all great and I want to encourage us all to remain united, we are the party to beat comes 2023”.

While speaking on behalf of other organizers of the meeting, Hon. Akeem Akogun said the purpose of the meeting is to put the Ibadan land chapter of Oyo APC together as one irrespective of any aspiration or interest as in the unity, victory lies.

As contained in the communique of the meeting,

“At the Meeting, it was reported that Progressive elements from Ibarapa axis expressed their desire to be carried along in the efforts to reflect Ibadanland/Ibarapaland Agenda for the APC.

“Stakeholders welcomed briefing from the National Headquarters of the APC ahead of the forthcoming membership registration and revalidation exercise which the promised to accord all necessary support to ensure that a good population of existing and new members are captured in the exercise.

“Stakeholders lauded conveners for the efforts made towards strict adherence to Covid-19 protocols.

Conveners expressed gratitude to eminent party leaders especially former governor, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala, who was represented at the Meeting by Chief Wale Ohu and also the State Caretaker Chairman, Chief Akin Oke.

“The Meeting adjourned for another day which Conveners promised to announce to the general public as soon as possible.”

Earlier, in his wecome address, the acting secretary of the party in the state, Hon. Mojeed Olaoya, explained that the stakeholders meeting became pertinent in a bid to address some of the issues that led to the loss of the party at the 2019 guber polls in the state.

He noted that it is important for the party to form a united front in the state.

Among other organizers of the meeting are Alhaji Wale Sanusi, Hon. Murphy Adigun, Hon. Shina Alabi, Hon. Akeem Akogun.

Also in attendance were Alhaji Kamar Ajisafe, Alh. MKO Olaoye, Alhaji Marafa, Dr(Mrs) Peju Esan, Hon. Tinu Adigun, Oloye Akinade Fijabi, Baba Olowo Adekile, Hon. Shina Alabi, Hon. Bolanle Agbaje, Alhaji Adegoke Bashir, Hon. Omo BAO, Alhaji BAO Oladeji, Hon. Saheed Akin-Fijabi, Hon. Kehinde Subar, Dr. Fola Akinosun, local government chairmen, councilors in Ibadanland and other several prominent personalities.
