Ibadan, Oyo State.
The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of the Ibadan North Local Government Area, Alhaji Taofeek Ademola Olayiwola, was elected as the Vice Chairman of the Bodija Estates and Environs Muslim Community (BEEMC) on Sunday, December 28.
In the 32nd Annual General Meeting of the community held at Bodija Estates Muslim Community Central Mosque, Housing, Bodija, Ibadan, Olayiwola succeeded former Chairman of the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC), Aare Isiaka Abiola Olagunju, SAN, who was elevated to the apex position of the Chairman of the Muslim Community.

Olayiwola made his way to the executive committee of the community in the early 21st century. Initially, he emerged as the Assistant Secretary of the community between August 2000 and 2003.

Previously, the prolific writer has also served in the following various capacities in the Muslim community: he has served as the longest-serving secretary between August 2003 and 2006, 2008 and 2011, and 2021 and 2024. He served as the Publicity Secretary between August 2007 and 2008 and 2012 and 2015. Olayiwola was also a 3-term ex-officio member of the community, which was terminated in the just-concluded 2025 Annual General Meeting of the community, and he rose to the rank of vice-chairman the same day. However, this position automates him as Chairman of the 2026 Ramadan Lectures Committee, the most popular age-long annual events (4 per Ramadan) that draw notable Islamic personalities from home and abroad.
The integrous politician who has been in the political field for decades rose from a member to the position of Assistant Secretary, Secretary, and Chairman of his party in Ward 10, Ibadan North Local Government Area, before being elevated to the rank of Constituency II Chairman (Chairman of 6 Chairmen), and later, the current Local Government Chairman of the Progressives Folds since 2022.
The erudite scholar has won over 65 titles in various notable publishing firms in Nigeria. Olayiwola was inducted in Lagos by a Delaware Institute (US-based) as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Educational Management and Administration with a Practising Licence as an Educational Manager (F.Edu.Mgr) in 2016. His popular Yoruba poetry collection, “AKỌ̀WÉ KỌ WÚRÀ”, was one of the WAEC’s selections for the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE), 2011-2015, as several others have been on the list of adopted titles in the Ogun, Lagos and Oyo States Ministries of Education.
Olayiwola, a practically proven god-fearing personality, has a good track record regarding honesty, transparency, accountability, probity, and self-esteem in his service history. He will attain the age of 61 on Monday.
