Oyo APC Congress: Ex- Senator, Soji Akanbi Pacifies Party Faithful, Assures Gov Buni Led CECPC’s Impartiality.

Due to the rising tensions and high emotions within the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Oyo-State, after holding her controversial state congress, yesterday, at Liberty Stadium, in Ibadan, the immediate past Senator of Oyo South District, Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi has pacified members of the party, to remain tenacious and calm in the face of challenging situations. He assured the party faithful of Governor Mai Mala Buni’s impartiality, on the lingering issues, as a man of integrity.

Senator Akanbi revealed that,”Alhaji Gambo Lawan led Congress committee members were divided over conducting the congress, yesterday, as a result of the alleged delegates’ list falsification by the outgoing state Chairman of our great Party, Chief Akin Oke. But despite that, few members of the committee went ahead to announce that they’ve conducted the congress.

Akanbi lamented over the crisis rocking the party and appealed to the party members not to take laws into their own hands.

In his words;”I want to appeal to some of our people who are hellbent on hijacking party’s structures, by all means, to refrain from doing so. If you hijack it and the party becomes empty, please, to whose advantage? And unfortunately, if at the end of the day, the national leadership of the party issue a guideline that it will be direct primary, please, is not that a double loss? Please, let’s shun desperation and work together as a formidable team, ahead of the 2023.

Akanbi called on the leadership of the party’s Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee(CECPC) under the watch of Governor Buni to save Oyo APC from brink of destabilization ahead of 2023 general.”Your Excellency, sir! You’re an integrous helmsman and seasoned administrator. Please, save Oyo Oyo APC from those that want to be ambitiously set it a blazed. Please, employ holistic approaches that will amicably resolve all the contentious and subsistent congresses- related issues, from ward, local government and to state levels, in Oyo.

Akanbi saluted Buni’s leadership prowess and encouraged all party bigwigs to sheath their swords, and join hands together to build a truly progressive Oyo APC.
