OYO APC CONGRESS: Group Throws Weight Behind Akin Oke, Rejects ‘Falsified Delegate List’ • Stay Clear of Congress Venue – They Advise Party Faithful.

Oyo Progressive Liberation Front, a pro- All Progressives Congress, APC, in Oyo State, has saluted the courage of the outgoing Chairman of the Party, Chief Akin Oke for speaking out, loudly, against what they described as “falsified delegate list”, handed over to him, yesterday, by the Congress Committee Chairman, Alhaji Gambo Lawan.

The group, unanimously, threw their weights behind Chief Oke and supported his stand, to summon urgent stakeholders meeting, slated for early today, at Oke Ado party Secretariat.

In a statement signed by Honourable Aiyegbajeje ‘Dayo, the group maintained that going ahead with the falsified delegate list, to conduct the congress, as revealed by Chief Oke has already invalidated the process even before its commencement. “Dear fellow APC faithful! the best thing to do is to hold our congress today, because, we’ve waited for so long but we can’t build something on nothing. Thus, it’s better to have it postponed, in order to address the issues of falsification and validate all congress processes.

“As truly progressive party men, please, let’s stay clear of the congress venue today. With this revelation of the falsified delegate list, any congress that is conducted with it is already a ‘kangaroo’ one,so, let’s all our leaders converge at Oke Ado today, to address this issue of the doctored delegate list and give us new direction.

“Once again, we salute the tenacity of Chief Akin Oke. We commend him for speaking truth, loudly, especially, at a critical time when it matters most. Sir, Chief Akin Oke! No one can cow you. No one can intimidate you. No one can blackmail you, for calling a spade a spade. No one can pounce on you for calling for justice and upholding progressive ideals. Indeed, you’re an hero of internal democracy and we’re happy to pass vote of confidence on you. Kudos, sir and thanks for all you’ve done for progressive family, since your tender age”, they solidarised.
