Oyo APC Congress: PYA SW Zonal Women Leader, Amb Titilayo Salam, Congratulates ‘Only Female LGA Party Chairman’, Alhaja Ajarat Taofeek

The Southwest Zonal Women Leader of the Progressive Youth Ambassadors (PYA), Ambassador Titilayo Salam, has felicitated Hon. (Alhaja) Ajarat Taofeek, fondly referred to as the Okanlawon of Oyo State, on her emergence as one of the Local Government Party Chairmen under the platform of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State.

Describing Alhaja Taofeek as a woman of substance and proven capacity, Amb. Salam noted that Alhaja Taofeek’s emergence is a well-deserved victory not only for her personally but also for women across the progressive family. She congratulated the leadership of the APC in Oyo State and especially ‘our great mother, Her Excellency, Ambassador-Designate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief (Mrs) Fatimoh Florence Ajimobi, for supporting and upholding the inclusion of women in strategic leadership positions within the party structure.

While celebrating this remarkable achievement, Amb. Salam commended the Oyo State APC leadership for creating opportunities for competent and capable women to occupy positions of authority. She emphasised that women have consistently remained at the forefront of grassroots mobilisation, party organisation, and active political engagement, contributing immensely to the growth, unity, and stability of the party.

Salam also expressed profound appreciation to the APC family in Itesiwaju Local Government and the state at large for making history by giving a woman the opportunity to serve in this capacity for the first time in the history of progressive politics in Itesiwaju and Oke-Ogun as a whole.

Salam extended special appreciation to the former First Lady, (Amb.) Ajimobi, for continually standing as a symbol of womanhood, inspiration, and unwavering support for the advancement of women in politics.

Amb. Salam called on other local governments to emulate the bold and progressive example set by Itesiwaju Local Government by demonstrating confidence in the ability, competence, and leadership strength of women to handle sensitive and strategic offices without fear or hesitation.

“Once again, congratulations to our dear sister and pride of Oyo State — a woman of courage, resilience, capacity, and an active comrade, Hon. (Alhaja) Ajarat Taofeek. The future of progressive politics is brighter with women like you at the helm of leadership.
