Oyo APC: Please, Shun Divisive Politics At This Juncture – “Youth Lobby Group” Appeals to Gladiators.

Oyo State Lobby Group, a group of youths of the All Progressives Congress(APC), in the State has appealed to all stakeholders and tendencies within the party to embrace peace and foster unity for the sake of the party.

“The Youth Lobby Group” which was initiated to advocate for youth involvement in politics and leadership positions within the party and elective offices in the last few months, lobbied heavily for the involvement of youths in the new state executives.

Hon. Afeez Bolaji Repete, the Deputy National Youth Leader of the APC who spoke on behalf of the group said the party gladiators should embrace peace for the sake of victory at the polls in 2023.

“The youths have worked hard to unify the party. We have been reaching out to everyone to embrace peace and to allow the party move forward. We know that issues are bound to happen when different interests are projected, and that is the beauty of politics. However, the true beauty of politics is for all these interests to align in order to achieve the primary interest of the party .”

An Official Statement released by the group titled “Oyo APC Youth Sue For Peace” reads in parts:

“Those who fail to read history are bound to suffer the repetition of its mistake. We lost the seat of governance to the opposition due to various intra party crises that rocked our dear party pre -2019 election. This time really calls for sober reflection. We need to have a united front to fight the battle ahead. To ensure that our party does not repeat the mistakes of the past, all contending issues in the party must be resolved through constitutional means. All hands must be on deck.

“The interest of the party supersedes that of any individual. We are confident that the party would overcome its current travails as long as all hands are on deck.”

“All we need is peace. It’s only with peace and respect for party supremacy and interest that we can have a united front and achieve the internal cohesion needed as a party.
