Oyo APC: State Elders Advisory Council Is Partisan, Already Part of Our Party’s Crisis – Ibadan Northwest LG Leaders Fume.
Elders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress(APC), in Ibadan Northwest Local Government Area of Oyo-State has slammed its state chapter’s elders advisory council and said the council members are partisan.
The Ibadan Northwest local government APC leaders also maintained that the state elders advisory council is part of the crisis rocking the progressive party in the state and kicked against the harmonization committee set up by the advisory council.
IBADAN NORTH-WEST LOCAL GOVERNMENT
COMMUNIQUE AT THE END OF A MEETING HELD BY ELDERS COMMITTEE OF IBADAN NORTH WEST LOCAL GOVERNMENT
At its regular weekly meeting the Elders Committee of Ibadan North-West Local Government rose to condemn the action of so called Advisory Council of APC in their recent action of constituting 138 of Reconciliation Committee. The action was done in bad taste as the so call advisory Committee are already part of the crisis as they are partisan in all their dealings within the party.
This recent constitution of Reconciliatory Committee is a testimony to their partisanship attributes. In the Progressive party no one or group of people can operate in such an authoritarian dimension. It is expected that such decision has collaborative qualities which for us at Ibadan North West Local Government is greatly lacking. The Advisory Committee is only acting a script that is only known to them and which could not bring any good to the party if allowed to go unchecked.
On the basis of this the Elders decided as follows:
That Ibadan North-West Local Government of the APC dissociates itself from this kind of ‘Kangaroo’ Committee set up by Advisory Council.
That the Committee does not represent in anyway the yearnings of the majority of our party.
That the Committee is not known by any law, regulation or tradition of a progressive party like ours, the APC.
That no one in the Local Government could attest to the existence of such committee.
In this light the Elders Committee unanimously reject the so call reconciliation committee to the extent of not having anything to do with it.
