Former Chief whip of Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Adigun Abiodun-Hammed, popularly known as Murphy has berated former Minister of Communications, Barr. Adebayo Shittu over his reckless outburst over the reconciliation process of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State.
” He , Barr. Shittu was never part of the leadership of Oyo APC unity forum, therefore, he is not qualified to speak on behalf of Oyo APC Unity forum”, Murphy maintained .
Barrister Shittu had on Saturday during a programme on a private radio station in Ibadan anchored by one of Ibadan based popular radio presenters downgraded the reconciliation committee led by the former governor of Oyo state, Otunba Adebaoyo Alao-Akala for its credibility .
Shittu said since Akala had left the party before, he could not be allowed to lead the reconciliation of its aggrived members, and being a close ally of the late former governor Abiola Ajimobi, he cannot be fair to his camp.
“I will not spare anyone who attempts to truncate or disrupt the reconciliation and repositioning agenda of our party. Barr. Shittu has never been part of the leadership of Oyo APC unity forum struggle. He only came as exploiter and opportunist! So he is not qualified to speak on behalf of Oyo APC Unity forum “.
“I was never an ally of Gov. Alao Akala but I was opportuned to serve with him as a member of Oyo State House of Assembly even as an opposition member, we know his impacts . Anyone who could not raise a voice against his nomination and appointment as the Chairman of the Reconciliation Committee set up by the late former Gov. Abiola Ajimobi while he was alive does not have moral standing and integrity to reject his leadership and control of the Party now “.
“For those of us who are truly interested in the success of the party, we must raise our voices toward anyone or groups whose statement or reactions and utterances will have debilitating impacts on our collective and concerted efforts in Oyo APC .”
